Actually isn't the punchline that as people become older they think that whatever they listened to in their formative years is "real music" and superior to whatever contemporary music is popular?
99.99999% of Jazz is awful, unlistenable shit.

>Whom
It should be "who" in this sentence, "whom" indicates the objective case.
what does /mu/ think?
>>63598952
Absolutely love full of hell. Can't say for sure yet, this project is so different and out there, but I think over time I'll learn to like it more. This album takes a lot of patients and also I'm not crazy about chips vocals at all. But I really appreciate the style and their combined takes of the opposite spectrums of extreme experimental music.
>>63598952
Literally the most gruesome album of this year so far. Not as good as Rudiments of Mutilation, but definitely AOTYSF
I absolutely love The Body, this album is great, their solo album is better; The Body are slayin the metal game

best song on the album, maybe one of the best songs of the 90s. so fucking catchy
This album is a 10/10. I'm serious.
This is pretty good, what's with the hate? It's like a more indie Residents.
People don't hate the music, they hate the le quirky kids who name drop this and stuff like Nurse With Wound to sound like they're music experts when they probably never listened to it.
I just listened to this in full yesterday. I loved it. It reminded me of a weirder, more experimental Pavement. The reason this is hated though is because many RYM posers love it as well.
>>63598638
How would they even know these names without some level of exploration into that area of music?

I feel like my tastes are getting worse and feel ashamed by telling others I like rap music cuz I think is objectively bad music. Will this feeling ever go away, /mu/?

Why did Japan never give up on '80s-style cock rock and shred metal when grunge and alternative rolled along like America and most of Europe did?
>>63597804
I once read an explanation of this.
Apparently (I don't know this, I only remember what was in what I read), Japan has a history with stringed instruments that are/were much more similar in tone and approach to shred than western classical music (or basically any music up to the late 70s). Yngwie might've been playing classical music with tacky rock shit throughout and bombast, but it was exactly that same rock shit and bombast that people began to dislike after the 80s. Japan had a much longer history...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I don't know, but thank god they didn't. I honestly can't stand most modern rock. Most of the western music I listen to nowadays is rap and EDM because rock is so toothless and simpleton.
Japan was better at 80s rock than the west anyway, while the west was all about power ballads Japan did all sorts of cool pop blending shit and introducing classical bits. Japan is just good at rock.
It's hard to get heroin in Japan
I'm just now getting into the residents and have been enjoying them a lot. What is you guys favorite albums or tracks by them? What should a newbie listen to?
Go home, America
55 will do.
3rd Reich N Roll is my favorite album
there's a flowchart for them that's pretty good for getting into them
I thought the third reich and roll had a cool concept, but it wasn't nearly as cool in execution.
