GET IN HERE /trad/ FRIENDS
What have you been listening to recently?
Mostly Caribbean and Central American music, lots of pre-Conquistador Indian music and some more recent Calypso based music in preparation for emigration.
Bloody handy Spotify has most of the Smithsonian catalog on there.
Its fun, its upbeat, its different and while production sound might not be up to more Western counterparts, the true authenticity of the Caribbean saw and screwdriver, accordion, guitar and drums with the Calypso background work brilliantly for any Junkanoo.
Now that the ashes have returned to ashes and the dust to dust what would you rate this EP?

Does /mu/ Ty?
Just downloaded Explosions in the Sky - The Wilderness, thoughts on this album /mu/?
Been stoked since this was released https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT2UmlUmDQI
how can an album so highly rated be so boring /mu/? i speak as a fan of post-rock, but this album nearly sent me to sleep after the first 2-3 tracks
The first time I listened to it I absolutely despised it, even to the point of shitposting on /mu/ about it. However after listening to it again and again, I find myself loving it more and more each time. With each listen I notice things in the songs I'd never noticed before. It all blends together when you hear the nuances.
Besides K-Pop there isn't that much buzz about East Asian music outside of Japan, There's gotta be an untapped wellspring we can meme. What music from China, North/South Korea, Mongolia or Taiwan have you enjoyed? What would you recommend?
Rock and Roll from Vietnam, very classic sounding with loud delayed vocals, super lo-fi on some tracks.
Vietnamese here, there some modern stuffs that is really like:
Ngọt, normal but nice "indie rock"
Rắn Cạp Đuôi, "experimental"/electronic/noise/post-rock
Welp, science has discovered the age at which you stop listening to new music..... its 33
"The study concluded that 33 is the average age when people stop discovering new music."
how long till you retire into the mediocrity of led zeppelin and waste half your waking life pouring scorn on what the young 'uns are listening to these days?
I got 4 years left
Like every single album in existence, there are people here who like it, people who love it, people who don't care, people who hate it, people who think it's overrated, and people who think everything in between.
Feminized, pussified white people rock. Gay. With a dyke horror on bass. Came to see what K. Cobain like about this band. Not much, from what I can see. He was severely disturbed... and also gay, in the end.
There is so much music how do you keep up how do you have time i have too much back log. im going to die before finishing all these aaaaahhhhhh
Do people on /mu/ actually like KPOP, or do only waifufags?
Pic unrelated (Negative Scanner - Negative Scanner)
Is there any "normal" musicians that have made an album in their careers that's either borderline or fully outsider music?
Pic sort of related.
Let me rephrase that:
Musicians who made relatively normal music for normal people*
Welcome to /mu/, how contrarian are you?
Burial has less than 10 good songs
Aphex Twin has 2 good songs
Death Grips have 0 good songs
Coldplay has 1 good album
The Format > Fun
Rap is all shit
Blu is the best of the shit
Swans sucks repetitive trash
Fugazi are fucking boring
MIA is the worst
Jai Paul is not worth the hype and is going to fall flat on his next album. that AK single was shit
Jack White is a god
ITT: Left field hiphop that's better than ATCQ
They are far better than ATCQ. The beats are different in style, maybe not better, but I like them more - but DP's rapping is fucking impressive. It's accurate, it's impressive, ATCQ could just shut up and improve their albums a great deal.
