So I recently had to pay my Office 365 subscription with my credit card instead of my Visa card. When I did this, I noticed that I had also been subscribed to Groove Music, which gives me unlimited streaming music. I forgot I was subscribed to it so I haven't been using it. I can listen to anything I want without ads, and it recommends artists based on what I like. Is this a good deal for 7.67 USD per month? The only use of it I can think of is discovering new stuff that I might like. I am not aware of any free services that can do this without ads. It still feels a bit...

how do i get inspiration? been producing for over 2 years now, ive never been so under-inspired before. i remember back when i didnt even know what the hell sidechaining is, i had so many ideas and melodies and chord progressions just jumping into my mind, now i cant do anything that makes me feel satisfied. i stopped listening to the music i used to love because of the jealousy that i cant ever make a track that good. ive started 3 projects over the past 5 months and scrapped them all. how does /mu/ deal with writers block?
I don't have writers block. There's too much shitty music to write about.
shameless, unsatisfying self bump

take a break, listen to some genres you wouldn't normally listen to. Try starting your tracks totally differently than how you usually do - start with drums, start with a single melody and work your chords/rhythm around that. Think less, don't force it
So, do you like soul music?

How nice?
Electric Ladyland >>>>>>>> Are You Experienced > Axis Bold As Love
>>63677304
This is the first Jimi Hendrix album I've ever listened to and I felt underwhelmed after finishing it because all the reviews said it was fantastic and stuff. Is electric ladyland actually better? Should I check it out?
Whats with all the pop for 12yo girls on this board?
Don't say its fun and catchy, thats not exclusive to pop music and calling people hipsters or poseurs doesn't explain it.
pitchfork and poptimism

we tried to warn you about viral marketing back in 2013 but it's too late
you told us to go back to /v/, and now you're paying the consequences
Would you have done coke with Bowie?
I would have done smack with Iggy & Lou
No I'm not a degenerate

this, fuck Bowie
I'd also smoke weed with Bob Dylan but I still wouldn't do shit with Bowie

I'm really looking forward to it. But I'm also nervous. TKOL was good, but to me it was a bit of a letdown after In Rainbows and HTTT. Do you think that Radiohead will return to a more instrumental sound, /mu/? Or is it all bleeps and bloops from here?
he looks like rasputin's dim-witted brother
Hey,
so I'm studying graphics design and as a project we've been given the assignment to search for a piece of music without vocals which can be cut to a part of 20-40 'interesting' or 'versatile' Seconds. For this part we'll create a video (3d, real filmed without actors, mapping, handdrawn, anything goes).
I'm searching for other ideas (maybe classical or jazz-related) than the electronic stuff I'm mostly listening to but electronic is also welcome so if you know a song that has a very unique and probably suitable part in it tell me.
I hope this was the right board to post this, sry for long post
>>63676793
sounds like a cool project, alot of music could work just depends on what you want to film.
I would try oneohtrix point never, hauschka, tim hecker, venetian snares and maybe satie or ravel for classical music
>>63676871
yeah, we watched results of past semesters, most of them we're 3D stuff, it made me want to choose 3d, too
Ok, I'll write those down thanks!

Just learn to sing and play you fucking loser. Dont worry though your band probably fucking sucks and most youll do is play at some shit bar.
Seriously just give up dude. You are hopless if you cant even do the two most basic things. Have you considered suicide? I have but then i discovered my dick and got good and became a musician. Now either do or get the fuck out of the scene because we have enough cringe music as it is. Nobody cares about your diary note lyrics. Fuck you
Give me an honest opinion.
Who has had a greater influence on rock music than this man? Are the haters just contrarians? I know that /mu/ loves this man, I was in the thread we had when he died. From my perspective, the only people that hold a candle to him would be Paul McCartney and Frank Zappa. McCartney struggled to make it post-Beatles (>muh Band on the Run), and while Zappa is a much more talented musician he never had the same appeal as a songwriter as Bowie.
I don't take this as absolute. In fact, I want to be challenged. I'm 22 and I've...

Neil Young
Van Morrison
Tom Waits
Zappa
Bob Dylan
are all significantly better and more influential
>>63676684
only #2 to McCartney, simply because he's like the elder statesman of rock music now, just as he was the (comparatively) level-headed Beatle. Regardless of whether he is making good music or shit, his reputation carries weight and he will be influential.
Personally I probably prefer Bowie but McCartney is still the king. The only person whose passing will create an even greater shockwave of posthumous appreciation
I only listened to like five songs, the vocalist sounds like a fucking retard.

Would you rather see them move on without Serj or Daron and make a new album or have them break up? We all know the reason its been 11 years since they release a new album is because Serj and Daron hate each other more than Axl and Slash.
>>63676262
Band have near perfect albums streak, I don't want it to be ruined.
It's been too long now, I'd rather they just officially break up.
>>63676262
i'm a casual listener. Why do they hate each other?
