What the hell is wrong with /mu/
Just saw Gira live.
Holy shit man, it was pretty fucking depressing.
New live EP by the way
Is The Purple Bottle their best song?
Kanye said people on this project kept telling him to change the tracklisting (he specifically mentions starting the album with Blood on the Leaves which works a lot better).
What do you guys think the proposed tracklisting was? Do you think it'd improve the album?
I feel the album is a bit boring until Hold My Liquor and if the first three tracks were spread around a bit maybe it'd help.
What are the essential avant-teen/poseurcore artists for each genre? I'll start.
>Folk: Comus or Exuma
>Noise Rock: Les Rallizes Denudes or Fushitsusha
>No Wave: DNA
>Free Improv: Taj-Mahal Travelers
>Experimental Electronic: Coil
>Industrial: Throbbing Gristle
>Blues: Captain Beefheart
>Psychedelic Rock: The Red...

is it better to suck live and great in studio or vice versa
absolutely subjective. Personally, I never go near concerts because I'm a busy ass man (with no money). However, sucking ass live essentially shows that you're not a very good musician/performer. You can still be a good artist.
>got kicked out of The Rolling Stones, in 1968, because he was partying too much and was fucked up all the time
How is that even possible? Like what the fuck do you need to be doing?
>partying too hard for the Rolling Stones
That's pretty good.
memes aside, is there any other folk that goes this hard?
Check out the Mountain Goats' early work if you like the lo-fi and the lyrics, their more recent work if you're just into the lyrics.
Other folk-punk is pretty similar to this as well- try Andrew Jackson Jihad; Ghost Mice and Against Me! are alright as long as you're not put off by the SJW undertones (and in Against Me!'s case, overtones)
Andrew Bird's been a recent favorite of mine as well, check him out. Skip his first album though, he didn't really find his sound until later on in his career
Looking for some pacifistic rap/hip-hop
Also, general peace-music thread
who wants to do a '/mu/ sings beach life-in-death'?
nice to see the shitposters are still monitoring the board.
i'd personally be up for it, "Will". but make it something shorter like America (Never Been).
sadly it'll never happen because CSH discussion can't be posted on /mu/ because bitter bandcampfags will keep posting "WILL VIRALS" because they can't get their shitty albums out there.
pleb or patrician?
I need good rappers that don't have shitty electronic beats and turn table fuckery, just traditional guitars, drums, whatever, as long as it's real music. Not like booty-ho type rappers either, groups with actual ideas, flow, and good beats.
The only example I can really find is the black guy from Gorillaz, end even then half the song is singing, and it's not exactly what I'm looking for.
Besides that, I like Young Fathers lyrics, the beat ruins it.
Also post the links please, thanks.
this was recorded with studio musicians IIRC
>that don't have shitty electronic beats
Nothing wrong with those if proper work is put into them.
>>and turn table fuckery
I'll give you that one. Scratching is corny and overdone to hell at this point.
