Deafheaven is a NSBM band, man, I'd advise you against going there if you're a leftie or non-white, they're pretty serious about it, especially George.
are they demonic or something?
I usually avoid listening to dark-themed drone/black metal stuff as I'm a devoted christian but this record sounded so good the first time I heard
was I tricked by the cover?
I used to think anything that is "anti-music" is also anti-god

I've never understood how people can enjoy certain music groups. Every time I find a good song, I look up the group, and the rest of the songs are completely different and bad. I've always enjoyed music not based on genre, group, lyrics, etc, but just on the song alone and what emotions it conveys. Anyone else feel the same way? Am I just autistic?
>>63774864
>Am I just autistic?
yes. You'll have to accept at some point that it's better if artists don't make the same song over and over again
>>63774954
Well, don't you follow a group because of a specific style or theme?
>>63774993
Yes, but generally those are broad enough to allow an artist's discography to fit under it, not so narrow it only allows a specific type of song.
Besides, (the extent to which this is true varies a lot by artist), artists often release full albums that are meant to be listened to from start to finish, so you would judge artists based on those, rather than on single songs. Typically the more an artist seems to focus on making single good songs, it indicates that they care more about commercial success...

why is /mu/ obsessed with this average album?
is it because you felt you had to have something of your own to show (and prove that you're as passionate and knowledgeable as real music critics) yet were too lame to find anything better?
also applies to Stratosphere
rate the last shit you took according to this chart
bonus points if it went *sploosh*

How come all the best electronic music artists are men?
https://www.residentadvisor.net/dj-100.aspx
Why aren't there more good female DJs?
There are maybe 6 females in the top 100 here.
Is this whole scene sexist? When you go see these artists live the crowd is split pretty much 65% men so I'm nots like women aren't into this music.
What country has the best?

Do you look up meanings for songs and lyrics or do you like to come up with your own?
>>63774410
Depends on how you mean. I sometimes read Wikipedia entries for songs I like, where it sometimes explains what the artist meant with the song. I's never Google "Song X meaning" though, to have some Yahoo retard explain what they thought the artist meant. I find that songs come to mean different things to me regardless of their actual history, and instead depend on my personal memories and experiences.
>listening to music with lyrics
sure is pleb in here
>>63774410
I automatically picture a story in my head based on how I'm interpreting the lyrics.
