I'd have to say any color you like but aphex twin is really up there next to pink Floyd
>>63845133
Alberto for sure. When the last "chorus" comes around I lose my shit. Those high pitched synths sound like alien voices doing rapturous gospel rite? Oh my god what a fucking glorious sound.

Alberto
Is this the Boss's best album?
yep
The River
He doesn't have any good albums
>Zankoku na tenshi no you ni

I like several songs off SJ, but can't say I like it as a whole album. MPP I love through and through. None of their other releases are even interesting to me.
>Best
Footy
>"""""""""Worst"""""""""""
Shadow Mine (still amazing)
>Runner Up
Seed Song
>Feelsiest
Good House
>What you had for breakfast
Bagel
>Just AM not best
more like Just Kill Yourself
Seed Song into Good House gives me fucking chills.
>>63844587
JUST Am is amazing, better than anything on PW and most of AnCo's other work lately, but Footy is just so good
Good House is literally making me cry i love it
ITT Albums being high changed your opinion of.

Alright richfags get the hell in here
The Zappa documentary only has 70 hours to go before it ends. Hitting 1 million $$ could be huge.

Should have done a doc on Beefheart instead
implying there are any people with successful lives and careers (or inherited wealth) on this board

What does /mu/ thinks of Melt-Banana? Also what's your favorite material from them?
>>63844324
Done in one, anon. This album makes me cum.
Also, Bambi's Dilemma and Teeny Shiny. And the rest. So fucking good. Saw them live in July and it was so much fun.
>>63844324
I like that and Fetch
I couldn't into Scratch or Stitch because [Im a filthy plen]/[grindcore just isn't that good or interesting compared to how their sound developed later on]
delete as you see fit, and have a nice day
Fetch is amazing dude
>hard mode
Do not use the word "reddit" or judge either band on their autistic fan bases. Judge solely off of musical output.
I much prefer Queen. Much more playful and wacky than Zeppelin. Although a bit too technically polished for my tastes. Still, any band that can do Backchat, the hitman, dead on time and '39 rubs me the right way. I like bands that bleed styles into each other. Although I'm not that big of a fan.
Zep... they're alright.
>>63844288
Led Zeppelin was more consistent, but Queen reached higher highs. I don't think Led Zep has anything that compares to Prophet's Song.
>>63844288
Maybe Zeppelin.
I find their music less grating.
In reality I don't really enjoy any of them.
those are the best albums from 1967. which one you prefer?
the dood
TVUN > Mothers > PATGOD > Doors
All are really good though
>>63844255
1967 confirmed best year for rock of all time
Why should I care how influential a band was? That doesn't make their music sound any better.

Led Zeppelin is the most overrated 70s rock band by far.
I would say Led Zeppelin are pretty good. But I agree that being influential shouldn't matter in your appraisal of the actual band.
Led Zeppelin overrated? Yes. Good? Yes. Influential? Of course
Albums you thought were overrated and horrible at first but now love. Add descriptions of why you hated it and why you fell in love if you want, if not, that's cool too.
>thought the recording quality was shotty as fuck and unlistenable
>thought people loved it for its shitty recording quality
>came to love it because it sounds so human and authentic
>constant theme of suicide that comes off as more genuine than it does edgyComment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I got lucky with the first time. I was really losing faith in it and then bam, in comes I Felt Your Shape.
Haino's "Watashi Dake?"
First listen, it sounded like aimless noise and empty nonsense vocals. I was right, BUT I looked up what "Watashi Dake?" meant after listening to some other Haino albums I liked.
It means something along the lines of "Just me?", and I realized that it was him expressing himself in the most personal way possible.
I sound like a total pretentious dickhead now, but I'm being honest.
>>63844039
My feelings about his album exactly. My first impression was "what is with this high pitched ringing and why is it considered music" but I came to appreciate it after a while.
I've heard quite a bit of Vocaloid music from almost every variety of Vocaloid, and to me a lot of it seems like dumb amateurish poppy stuff with underwhelming and/or annoying instrumentals and lyrics that might be interesting but done by a weird robot that talks too fast. I haven't liked much of it at all and any likeness I've had for any songs made with Vocaloid hasn't lasted.
Reinforce my opinion and/or give me good Vocaloid if it exists. Discuss.
>>63843996
It's weaboo faggot shit. Of course it's bad.
>>63843996
I don't think you are completely incorrect. A lot of vocaloid music has the same problem as a lot of pop, it's just boring. But in the past I have found a few songs that I genuinely enjoyed but I never downloaded/bookmarked them so I can't point you back to them. Overall, I'd say a lot is generic weeb trash but some is okay to pretty good.
There's no such thing as "vocaloid music" they're just another instrument. Most of it is shit because most music is shit.
Let's have a relatively respectful discussion about this man and his body of work
-He's been making music for 30 years and has a vast discog at this point covering prog, approaching prog metal at times, pop, ambient, drone etc.
-Over the last few years he's started to pick up some very vocal haters for being too sterile/ boring etc but I still love a lot of his work, it was very important for getting me into music in general. I think he has a really great sense of melody.
-Some of my favs include Insurgentes, the first Blackfield album, the second...

He's a bit too fedora to take seriously. He appeals to 2 different kinds of people: the le wrong generations that think Pink Floyd is the pinacle of music and metal fans that are trying to branch out to real music.
>>63844241
Well that was danker than I hoped but I'll bite. I have never worn a fedora, I have never thought I was born in the wrong generation, I'm not a massive PF fan and I've never listened exclusively to metal
But, you know, okay
>>63843904
I love most No-Man stuff and PT from signify onward, but lately he's been really underwhelming with his King Crimson pastiches and such.
