Anyone here in a band?
What's it like, how often do you practice together, and do you have any tips for someone joining or forming a band?
it's fucking hard. leqarn to make music on your own as much as possible. makes things easier

>it's fucking hard
what about it? can you expand please, I would like to know what I'm getting myself into. any experience or tips from anyone here would be really appreciated

i started my band and write all of the music and lyrics for it.
i was lucky enough to get some pretty skilled musicians to play my stuff with, so we only practice once a week and are able to stay pretty tight. most of the time, practices are for working on new stuff im writing.
if i had a tip, it would be that if you don't have anyone you know to fill a spot, learn how to fill it yourself, and sometimes do that even if you do know someone, because having the most control possible over your vision,...

Refuses to form friendships through the internet.
This is the only metal album I've found that I actually like. What other albums should I try out?

What's the honest opinion of R.E.M around here?
Half the stuff I see praises them as great and half of it calls them normie dadrock
Michael Stipe has always seemed like le wacky baldman so I don't know what to think. Have never listened to them before but am about to give it a shot

REM fanboys are out here. They're hidden, but they're out here.
Theyre like U2, a trascendental band with diferentes stages that you have to judge by yourself.
k so in all seriousness, R.E.M. are literally one of the greatest alternative rock bands of all time. Murmur and Reckoning are their bast albums. They have a stupid number of great, great songs. Classic band all the way, better than U2 by miles.
>it's below 3 stars now
Holy shit you people are fucking plebs giving one of the best neo-psych albums less than a 3 just because it's not "epic" and gives you "le feels"
Truly a pleb filter album
Animal Collective is shit

This is one of the most rhythmically complex albums of the 2010s and the lyrics are a gold mine of great abstract lines
I swear pitchcucks just follow the establishment opinion

Outside my vocal range, beyond my technical guitar skills, while playing chords that I'm pretty sure are wrong. Winning combination

Psychologies virtual:
I am the delirium
and even night deceitfulness,
my man of mindless chance!
Bitch-burdens,
beasts unconsciously cosmic;
Spring flesh; forgery.
I was slain yet in ecstasy.

Personally, I love this album and can understand why people connect it with on an emotional level, but what makes it better than something like Person Pitch or even Sleep Cycle?
>>64038372
I've never seen anyone place it above Person Pitch
>>64038372
I definitely think it's better than Sleep Cycle.. Idk man..
Something about Down There is so beautiful.
I just want to pin down the reason why haha. It's definitely my favorite album to listen to whenever I'm feeling grim.
Name me a more pretentious person than thom yorke.
