Feeling pretty dumb rn.
cmon
i've seen one like
EAT

ASS
at some point i just do not give a hot steaming fuck about subgenres of metal and it seems like the divide happened some point in 1990
stoner metal is basically downtuned 70s hard rock, doom metal is just that slowed down, NWOBHM is 70s ratcheted up, thrash is that but fast, and i can get behind all of that and anyone who's making it then or now
but at a certain point past all the cores and techs and blackness and blastbeats and opera vocals and gregorian chanting i just don't, fuckin', get it
it all just seems... overcooked; going faster...

Some people like specific types of metal, like how there are specific types of electronic music. As people discovered and invented new and diverse sounds, it broke away from its original sound and it's its own subgenre but because the style is still a type of metal or Electronic, they fall under that blanket category.
You wouldn't generally like brostep if you were an ambient fan in the electronic music and you wouldn't be a fan of SDBM if you exclusively listened to power metal.

well i mean i get that, but even in genres i pretty much write off i can still find one or two i like
more than "this is not my thing" i feel like there is something i am fundamentally blanking out on here
Black metal is lo-fi thrash with screeching vocals
4 tracks in. Fucking wew lads.
bought Groovy Tony when it came out as a single, this Eddie Kane addition is fucking incredible.
If this album keeps up its pace then AOTY desu senpai atm
>mfw the bass on ride out
>>66305889
>retard who listens to hip hop (redundant, I know) thinks "wew lad" is a positive thing to say
Can't say I'm surprised though. Being unable to distinguish between positive and negative is essential if you're going to maintain your sanity after subjecting yourself to obviously terrible music for an extended period of time. It's like an adaptive trait for retards

Some autistic faggot here, just wondering what artists have a similar sound/feel to Pink Floyd? They are pretty much all I listen lately but I want to branch out because even though I have 12 hours or so of there stuff that I enjoy very much I feel like listening to just one band is silly.

what's so amazing about stressed out is that if you pay attention to the lyirics, he is singing about how all that matters is money. at first i thought it was directed towards the greedy music industry and i thought it was crazy that he got away with it. using them but at the same time criticize them. not a lot of artist have the balls to that but then i kept listening and i realize that it also works as a confession and he wasn't talking about the music industry wanting money but he himself also cares about money, it takes a lot of humility to accept your own flaws...
