Stupid question I guess, but if I wanted to add a Radiohead-like drum beat to a song in Logic how would I go about getting good sounds? I know how to program beats well it's just that I wonder how a lot of artists actually get the patches. Stock sounds are too cheesy. Do you just take a random piece of audio and run it through filters and shit to get a desired click or boom?
if you want good drums there are a few good pieces of software
superior drummer is one of them
you need to learn how to eq and process drums properly though if you want to make them sound personal

ITT: Every song is a 10/10
Most of that album is filler though.
I honestly can't think of any.
Pic related came close but Sonic Titan is only 9/10.
ITT: make your own album

Out of every band I've been in the drummers are always spastic and annoying, are all drummers like that? Does /mu/ have any personal annoying drummer stories?
I'm a drummer (haven't played in many years). And when I was younger, I was in a relatively successful band, and I managed to get us kicked out of 2 rehearsal studios, and permanently banned from a couple of clubs.
Oh, and by the way, there were 6 members (guitar, bass, vocals, 2 nerds on synths and laptops), and I was one of 2 main songwriters... so fuck you.
ITT: Musicians with abnormal physical features or mannerisms. I'll post the obvious ones in the first few posts just to get them out of the way.
Everyone knows about Bowie's dilated pupil from a fight he was in as a kid.
Thom Yorke has ptosis for his left eye, making it look somewhat closed in a lot of pictures.
Those are the most well known ones I think. Anyone got any more?
Another one though is that St. Vincent also seems to have left eye ptosis, though it seems milder than Thom's.
IT'S HERE GUYS
