is vapourwave worth listening too?
And I mean really worth it,as in are there artists whose works compare to the best Classical,Jazz or Rock Musicians?
the only reason to listen to vaporwave is if you like the sound of 70s/80s pop and R&B but you're too ignorant or lazy to just go back and listen to 70s/80s pop and R&B
or if you're a meme-loving bandwagon hopper i guess
basically what i'm saying is no, it isn't
It's best looked at as chill music. If you think of it as anything else it's going to come short.
It's an interesting genre of electronic music either way and worth exploring for that alone, the genre has a shitload of different styles depending on artist. This means even if the genre is officially shit it can still produce some good stuff.
The problem is most of it low-effort trash. The meme status doesn't help. I say listen to some essential albums or RYM top list and see for yourself.

I discovered City Pop through Vaporwave, which is now one of my favorite genres. In other word I think it is good for finding new music by the samples used.
/mu/ help me, you're my only hope
/r/vinyl is a cancerous hell hole and i need some suggestions about turntables.
Ok so, i have an Ion TTUSB - Yeah i know it's not God-tier, but i got it for free and it's, aside from shit aesthetics, works well.
But it's time for an upgrade - the music plays at a slightly higher speed, and really just don't like the aesthetics.
Right now - debating on either getting a belt replacement or spending more and getting the PL990 or equivilant price range Audio Technica *Taking recommendations too*
What do you think, is it bad to keep having the TTUSB - as a guy with 2, soon to be 6 by the end of the summer, records, is it worth getting a better turntable.
(if it matters - i don't care about USB - i got the USB from my uncle after he didn't want it any more - ripped the vinyls and was done - i replaced the needle and it was good)
Also why are belts for this thing so much - ebay has them for 15 (Shipping Included) part of me's like for a hunnit-fiddy more - would i be better off with a new, more better TT
Thoughts? Sorry for my rambling

personally I would say your best choice would be to get a used turntable from the 70's, check craigslist and whatnot
>>64609711
Best case scenario is a cool vintage used thing off craiglist or whatever.
Only get an Audio Technica if it's the LP120.
Christ, this was an unpleasant listen. Dylan would be ashamed that this can pass as a protest record nowadays.

>Bob Dylan
>valid opinion
>>64609708
I stopped at the fourth track
I love antony and the johnsons but I really don't like her voice over electronic production and I really don't like protest records, especially not protest records released under the current social climate
Still wondering whether I ought to listen to this
Anyone going to see her this upcoming Friday the 13th?
If so, post details; we can arrange a meet-up or something similar.

Of course you like Grimes.
You have horrible horrible taste Unty.
>>64609398
Only her first two albums; I attribute my survival of High School wholly to Geidi Primes and Halfaxa. I know she's not going to play any of those songs, but I still feel that I owe it to myself to see her perform.
As for your ill-conceived attacks, you don't even know my taste. You know perhaps 5 musicians that I listen to. More surprising than your willingness to criticize that which you know nothing about is the unfamiliar apathy which presently informs my rhetoric. I'm not even faintly mad.

Oasis - What's The Story (Morning Glory?)
Oasis - Be Here Now
Not joking or looking for b8ing. I'd like someone to explain the absurd acclaim these albums get.
why isn't this cutie pie more famous? you think he's resentful of those he influenced who got big??

literally nobody, /mu/ likes to think that their niche mr.nobody is just hidding in his cave perfecting his art and everybody is copying him. If he was any good he wouldn't be annonymus for 6 years now.
According to Bull Moose Vinyl the 7'' Btw/Spectre will be relased on the 16.
That means those songs won't be on LP9
Pretty good news right ?
https://twitter.com/BullMooseVinyl/status/728284741552705536?lang=fr
It could still be on the album
>>64608806
Why wouldn't BTW be on lp9?
It will probably still be on the album though. Spectre is just the B-side.

Her less good album is still good as fuck in general, actually. Wanderlust, Vertebrae by Vertebrae, Dull Flame of Desire and Declare Independence are goat tracks.
There is also this beautiful song that it isn't included in the album for unknown reasons.

Those seriously your favourites or just your most listened? I mean I'd understand the latter, mine is also 11/16 pure /mu/core back when I was getting into music and listened exclusively to what was usually posted here, and I'm not shitting on /mu/core, but are those seriously your "favourites"?

How do I get tinnitus without hearing loss /mu/?
I'm really into Noise and i think having a high pitch ringing sound in my ear permanently would be awesome. You might think I'm joking, but I'm not. It's like making the choice to get a tattoo, you only do it if you're committed enough. I've thought about it for a while, and i think I'd really like to do this.
What's the best way to go about it?
go get some sleep jeremy
>>64608598
Just listen to loud music.
I have tinnitus, but most of the time I forget it's there.
