What does /mu/ think of LSD and music? Do any of you enjoy the sound distortions and have any good experiences with it?

LMAO
How's the ATLP60? Or should I spring extra for the LP120?
LP60 doesn't have a counterweight. Go for the LP120 instead
if you're just trying to figure out if the hobby is for you then it should be fine

Just bought an LP120 myself, it's in the mail. Pretty excited, it will be my first record player. Where's a good place to buy records online, if there is any? And any beginner tips/blunders to avoid?
ITT: Music "villains" who were secretly the hero all along
Paul McCartney's pretty much the defining answer. Seems like he was the uncool "sell out" and enemy of the great rebel and icon John Lennon. Then you find who wrote what songs, and you realize Paul McCartney wrote almost all of their best songs. Then you look into how he guided the band's activities, and realize Lennon was a self-absorbed, irresponsible cunt and McCartney was just trying to maintain the quality of his band's work. Then you find out that Lennon was a terrible father and fairly nasty person who was only interested in political posturing...

Hello guys and gals. I haven't seen this question asked here, so I'm posting it.
What are your music listening habits like?
Are you 100% focused on music or are you doing something else (hobbies, chores, internet, ...)?
What positions, locations?
Does it depend on the type of music (if so, elaborate)?
Headphones or speakers?
Do you listen to full albums in one take?
>>66350153
It depends on the genre. With most music I can listen to it while browsing, but sometimes I'll get the feeling that I'm missing out and will exit out to focus on what's playing. For certain genres like drone or noise I'll try and pay attention/zone out to the whole thing. I listened to a three hour drone album the other day and it was really nice.
Always full albums, and always headphones. Sometimes I'll lay down on my bed to listen, but I usually fall asleep, so sitting on my chair is best.
>>66350229
Thanks for replying. I have the same issue with falling asleep if I lie down.
I find it strange however, that you focus on drone and browse while listening to most other music (however, I don't know what this term means for you).
I've never been able to properly appreciate an album if I didn't focus 100% (but I rarely have time and attention to do this, so I just waste time on the net while listening to bits of albums)
Depends on everything. The album. The mood. Where I am. I don't think everything should be listened to in the same way, unless of course if your trying to critique it and review it then I think there should be some little things that should be kept the same throughout
I don't like Paranoid Android, I think it's the worst song on OK Computer
The Beatles are overrated
Pink Floyd is overrated
Kanye is overrated
Captain Beefheart is shit
I turn to obscure and underground music to cope with my lack of hobbies or skills, so that I seem interesting. Also, dark side of the moon is fucking awful

>The Beatles are overrated
>Pink Floyd is overrated
>Kanye is overrated
>Captain Beefheart is shit
I agree with all these
I like ska punk
I think it's fun music that people hate on way too much

Tzadik, you have to be good though, and since you're here, you probably aren't.

guess no ones interested then
oh, I'm so lonely
As someone not really into UK Garage, can someone explain why this record is so groundbreaking/loved so much.
good opening track
>>66349293
It perfectly captured the feeling of post-club loneliness, it distilled influences from dance music into something musical (for lack of a better term) and introspective, and for better or worse it made esoteric UK styles visible to Americans.
>>66349309
Is that it? The opening track and Ghost Hardware are decent tracks but the whole thing just sounds like a sperg masturbating over Ableton
