Has Radiohead just proved the ongoing vitality of rock music as a medium?

When are people going to get bored with music that's a combination of guitar, bass, drums and vocals? It's all the same shit with different colored sprinkles.

Divers treatment.
What's considered his best album?
Crime Slunk Scene if only, because it has Soothsayer on it
not a single person has listened to them all so they can't be judged correctly
lot of people like Colma, I own it and think it's kind of shit
I really liked Look Up There though

you guys having trouble with topsters?
where were you when lp9 aoty confirmed
Going to give it a solid week before we see some "what went wrong?" threads, fatassano panning it, and then /mu/ turning on it because its a hivemind
>>64707069
if you're implying that's gonna happen because that's what happened with painting with you're wrong. the only positive reaction painting with got here was for less than an hour after its release with a few anons raving about it probably after they only got up to Vertical in the album. Within a day the opinion was more negative than positive. The pitchfork and fantanny reviews made it worse, that's for sure, but the response wasn't nearly as positive
>>64707069
The album is perfect. It won't be panned
Who are Shield Anvil and Mortal Sword? I've heard rumors that they're members of another metal band. This would explain their mysterious anonymity, and how they managed to come out of nowhere, produce the single greatest atmospheric black metal album of all time and then disappear just as quickly without taking any credit. Are there any /mu/sicians with info on Caladan Brood's identity and if they'll ever make another album?
>>64706933
They're a Summoning tribute band; and Protector&Silenius both have a dozen side-projects so I wouldn't put it past them to start a tribute band to their own band
>>64706998
lol I don't that's true
do you really think you'll get a good response here?
and I have no idea despite loving their music, I'm sure that they are in other bands that are known, start with black metal out of Utah, if you can find a band with vocals similar to the vocals from Caladan Brood you've probably found one of them.
but it's different now that i'm poor and aging...
is roland the best song in this album?
>>64706912
You could name any track on this album the best and I couldn't argue.
My personal favourites are Obstacle 1, Obstacle 2, and The New.
>>64706951
nice ones but I think the new is my least favorite one :/ anyways even the low points are stellar

So, with Death Grips and Radiohead taking all the attention this week, I haven't seen this album talked about here, and James Blake seems to be pretty well-recognized in /mu/.
What did you guys think of it? I liked it a lot.
It was raining here the day it dropped and I listened to it on my commute to work and back.
Enjoyed the first half.
Need to relisten to the second half because on the commute home I had diarrhea and could barely focus the drive home, let alone James Blake

Phenomenal album, honestly might be the best of the big three this weekend. I enjoyed it the first time, but I'm now giving it my undivided attention and it's dark in my apartment so this feels really intimate. It has a dark tone but has some beautiful and bright moments too, something James Blake has tried to improve I think. This album will reward those patient enough to take it all in a couple times.
>>64706873
its pretty dull
Looking stuff similar to pick related.
His other albums
Have you tried everything else Mark Kozelek has released?
Never thought I'd come to /mu/ for anything, much less advice, but I dunno where to start.
So today I got this old keyboard from my uncle today. It's a Yamaha PSR-500, made in 1991. Not that it matters, but it's been in my family for AT LEAST 15 years. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he bought it brand new. Anyway, the pic is the same keyboard. It has 100 old-school sounding MIDI instruments, 12 track memory settings, a pitch altering switch, and a bunch of other features I don't know shit about.
Now, here's the idea: I wanna make music with it. Like a bunch of weird onestop.mid-type shit, maybe some video game inspired music since it sounds like an oversized Nintendo 64. But like I said, I have no idea where to start. I found some USB to MIDI interface devices for pretty cheap, but I don't know if I need anything else.
TL;DR -- I want /mu/ to help me be a shitty Grant Kirkhope impersonator.
(Here's Yamaha's web page for my instrument: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/keyboards/digitalkeyboards/portable_keyboards/psr500/)

There's a few different ways you could record, I personally would just get a cheap audio interface and plug the yamaha into an xlr input. There's other ways you can go about it, but that's just what I would do. Good luck op.
