when did you realise this was their best work?
>>64735072
It's not though, it's a thrash metal band selling out and writing the same arena rock they bitched about when they started
when trump gets elected
>>64735476
Once you realize thrash is garbage you actually appreciate this album. The attention to sound quality, clean vocals, drums, well everything. Listen to it on 45RPM vinyl and its amazing. Just because something is different doesn't mean it's bad.
Finally downloaded Spotify after holding out for a long time. Is it worth it to pay for premium? I usually use my iPod classic to play music, but I'm constantly deleting things to make room for memory.

enjoy your 10000 song limit
>>64734947
is there really a 10,000 song limit? even with premium?
>>64734947
It's worth $10 a month, who really needs more than 10,000 songs downloaded?

this sounds so lame but i need some music that will make me cry (I feel it so built up and I've been trying to let it out). I usually stick to the basics i.e. smiths, smashing pumpkins, my chemical romance, sometimes nirvana but it's not doing it for me right now. I need something soon - any suggestions are welcome
What emotions are bringing about these tears?
You could try Car Seat Headrest, particularly Twin Fantasy and How To Leave Town

holy fuck people like you exist?
How involved do you intend to be with your children in regard to the music that they listen to? What would be your reaction if your child started dressing to reflect their interest in music? Could be simple band shirts, would be dying their hair and getting haircuts that pop stars have or long metalfag hair. They could wear vests with patches and studs or maybe they'll be wooed by an arty farty scene or maybe something entirely new in the future.
How involved were your parents when it came to this type of stuff?

Fellow /mu/sicians, for those who are in college courses outside of the creativity scope, do you think that your academic life gets in the way of your process of creation?
Oh I know it.
Vis varsa as ell
No. I think it enhances it, really. Any and all intellectual expansions reflect in anything and everything else you do. If you are studying something and you find it boring you've probably just not developed the right perspective/attitude about it. Or maybe you're studying something that's really boring, and in that case you're probably studying the wrong thing.
Math and physics major, by the way.
What are you studying and how far along are you?
Sort of
only in terms of time I have to flesh things out
things that would barely take two days of solid work now take a week, and anything more complex can be on the backburner for months up to half a year to get done. It's quite raining but satisfying

>What a beautiful face I have found in this place...
Never have I heard lyrics this sublime. Hello. I just gave this album a listen for the first time and--I am simply blown away. I am god damned blown away by the sheer awesomeness of this album.
I'm only just now getting into the post-rock scene, but the Aeroplane Over The Sea might... kind of be... the greatest album ever made?
