i think you misplaced shit with literally any other artist on there where Bob Dylan is
I've got a 13 hour drive in a couple days and am looking for any & all recs. I'm thinking about listening to a good bit of free jazz including body meta by ornette coleman, the tony oxley quartet, some Peter Kowald, some Muhal Richard Abrams, and others but would love some recs. Noise recs would also be cool but I'm so desperate I'll take anything

will listen thanks anons and nice dubs
if you're by yourself, I rec Air Above Mountains by Cecil Taylor - it's like hearing him invent a new language and speak poetry in it at the same time - really challenging stuff that whenever I put it on, I feel like I've been locked into a rollercoaster, and even if I'm having second thoughts about listening to a 40+ minute time commitment for something that challenging, I can feel that there really is no good moment to pause it, so I listen intently each time till the end.

My friend just posted this. What does /mu/ think?
Pretty funny
Somewhat humorous but I've seen it too many times.

yes
Underrated masterpiece. Why aren't you jamming smashing punpkins, anon?
because there is Pavement
Why do you consider one of the most lauded pieces of shit from the 90's music scene underrated?
But I am anon.
Also it's not really that underrated
The album drops digitally in about an hour with a new mix of Not Just What I Needed. To those of you who have listened to the leak, what do you think of it? Has it grown on you at all? Any of you have FurAffinity accounts you're ashamed to admit you still use actively?
yiff in hell will
Now, which one of you motherfuckers ever get down with Exam Time Fun?
https://myspace.com/deviot/video/exam-time-fun/5092026
I think it's fucking great.
At first, the first half was a lot stronger for me, but the second half has really grown on me, especially after listening more closely to the lyrics for Cosmic Hero.
So many great moments on this record.

if you don't like this album just reevaluate ur life desu
I tried to kill myself to this. I was spinning halfway through the title track.
On a side note, greatest artist to ever live.
>>65018264
Agreed on how amazing he is, but suicide to someone as life affirming as Bruce? What's that about?
i like The River more tehe
Normies will always defend classical music or use it as an example of greatness. Would never think of openly bashing it or they would get a lot of backlash from other normies.
Still, 95% of that people would never listen to it because they find it boring and uninteresting.
True or false?
Mozart is underrated, because neither the majority of his fans nor the majority of his detractors are capable of appreciating the remarkable elements of his compositions. In fact, many in either camp do not know they're there at all.
I mean its cool to know about mozart and Beethoven, but I rarely hear about saint saens and gershwin within the same conversations. Most people i talk to about classical music are like this.
>>65017688
True but its only because some refuse to expand their classical artist pallet and look at the history and lifestyes of thoes who conducted and composed it.
Why did the Grateful Dead almost completely ditch their acid rock sound after 1969?
I understand that bands change their sound of course, but their psychelic blues rock sound was awesome and they ditched it for a more boring folk/country sound. They also ditched many of their best songs, like Doin That Rag.
Don't get me wrong, I do love a lot of the songs on American Beauty, however I think their overall sound declined by the end of 1969.
Were they just trying to be another CSNY?

Never again would they release a song this good, except for maybe Box of Rain
>>65017442
Nah, their peak was 1971-1975 when they embraced the jazz sound they only implied on Dark Star. With Keith in the fold, they went on their best improv adventures.
>>65018185
I like the Eyes of the World from the GD movie
However, I'm not a huge fan of keith, he played nothing but Grand Piano and maybe Electric Piano sometimes
