When did you grow out of last.fm, scrobbling and all that dreck?
Last.fm used to be good for finding concerts before the update. Now it just recommends me shit festivals that have nothing to do with what I scrobble.
implying im not scrobbling right now
not yet
Has /mu/ been extra pleb recently? Is it because of summer?

Yes it has, and yes it is. I've been seeing way more praise for bands like Oasis, Greenday, Nirvana, and Beck.
>>65050229
Yea
I've seen pop-punk being accepted and praised actively without resistence. The majority of users seem to not listen to full albums too - something that's generally bot true on here. Waifuposting has been crazy too - so much Borkabork.

"Why do people not realize this is their best album?"

Shields literally describes this album as his test run for Loveless.

Shields also distanced the band from the Conway-era EPs, but Sunny Sundae Smile is great.

>Track 1: Herbie Hancock & Chick Corea - Someday My Prince Will Come
Herbie Hancock – Piano, left channel
Chick Corea – Piano, right channel
Props to jtg for calling exactly who's in each channel. This is the first track off 1978's An Evening With Herbie Hancock & Chick Corea: In Concert, the recording being taken from their tour that year. I really enjoy their interplay here and their interpretation of the tune as well. At a time when they were both mainly doing electric stuff, it's pretty interesting to hear...

Thelonious Monk - Piano
Charlie Rouse - tenor saxophone

Off of Live at the Jazz Workshop. The shorter of two takes of this song, which is a Monk original, a contrafact of "Sweet Georgia Brown". I know I'm pushing ita bit with "standard" here, but to me it just sounds like a very esoteric version of Sweet Georgia Brown. I think the best thing about this track is how Monk sits out on Rouse's solo, to me it really serves...

So this is one of the recordings with Dial when Bird was drunk off his ass on whiskey because he couldn't get heroin in California. You can even hear Howard McGhee yell "blow" at him at one point towards the start of his solo. Apparently Bird was angry this recording was even released. It's interesting people appreciated it so much on that basis, especially since...

Why does dad rock appeal so much to feminist art school chicks?
One day they will be saying my painting of a female is sexist and represents the male gaze of the female body...
The next day they will come to school wearing a dad rock band T shirt...
It's like my painting of a female in a non sexual way is sexist and disgusting but you idolize dad rock bands that had lyrics that sexualised women way more than any painting I have ever done with trheir lyrics.
I personally think a lot of these art school feminist chicks just say and do things that...

Art school feminist chicks are no different than the average death grip fan who thinks they're in the "know'
ignore them like their father did

Hey Feminist.
I don't want to.. I come to 4chan so I can complain and argue about what pisses me off anonymously, instead of looking crazy on facebook or losing my temper irl.
It wouldn't make sense for me to post images that could be traced back to my social media accounts...
If I did I would just stay on facebook.
Grimes made some of the best albums of the decade with this basic equipment for an electronic musician:
- a synth: Roland Juno-G and later Roland Gaia
- a sampler: Roland SH-404 SX
- a vocal pedal: Boss VE-20
- a vocal processor: TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 Floor-Based Vocal Processor
- a small mixer: Mackie 802-VLZ3 Mixer
- a DAW: GarbageBand and later Ableton Live
- microphones and other accessories.
What's your excuse? Don't you want to be famous like her?
>best albums of the decade
surely you jest
I think it was because it was 5am and I've never had a girlfriend. Her voice was pretty relaxing, I guess. Or it was shit. I was just really lonely. I hate her songs now, I just want to find somebody like me but I've given up on modern women. I am horrified of losing my assets in marriage and I want a virgin like me. Her songs remind me of being lonely, and I used to like that when I circlejerked pity and wallowed in it with the rest of them, but I want to grow up now.
damnit im trying

Why do you love Radiohead so much?
>he doesn't listen to a variety of artists barely anyone has heard of
>he doesn't also enjoy /mu/ core and other popular artists
>he doesn't enjoy many different genres
>he isn't aware of what critics praised or panned what
>his knowledge of folk and art music is non-existent

Haha, wow! Poptimism has actually, with absolute fucking sincerity, gone too far! Wow! And y'know, I wouldn't mind you people if you simply stuck to "discussing" such vapid, mainstream top 40 pop on appropriately mainstream websites, but you don't! You come here, HERE, to 4chan to vicariously satisfy you ill-conceived desire to be counter-culture! You come here so you can feel as though you're on the "bleeding, cutting edge" of culture and society, all while doing appreciating...

What were the genres invented in the 2000-2010 decade?
How music changed in those years?
General discussion
Dubstep
Djent was born around those years isn't it?
Brostep was invented, mainstream was heavily influenced by edm for a while, post 2014 people stopped giving a fuck about edm and everything returned to normal.
Apart from that everything has remained in status quo. There's so much music out there thanks to the internet that there is not one consistent musical act that has had a major effect, everyone sticks to their particular niche.
