Plunderphonics, a genre I'm very interested in.
How does one go about making music in this manner? How do you isolate each track? Where do you find what to sample? What programs does one use to sync together the samples? Also, in the thread share other plunderphonics albums.
Another good example
very high quality genre
DJ Shadow's Endtroducing is the holy grail of plunderphonics, also check out J Dilla's Donuts (both are entry level and popular on /mu/)
whosampled.com is a good resource, you can find most samples by searching for the song.
as for creating songs, I'm not sure what to tell you. there aren't any rules
does this count?

kick the bucket
How come there's never a drum thread? Let's post our kits favorite snares, heads, cymbals, kits, how many of our crashes crack, etc. Love my Gretsch Renown picked it up for 600. Really love my Masters snare too I haven't even thought about using anyother snare. I'm trying to get a K custom dark ride holy shit I tried one the other day I can't believe the sound it makes. Or a Meinl Byzance Vintage Sand not sure yet anything will be better than my B8 I have used for 5 years

WEEEAAAAAKK

TF OP how have u been playing five years and you still have gear this shitty
Is anyone else a bit underwhelmed with The Velvet Underground? TVU&N is pretty good, WL/WH has its moments if you are in the right mood, TVU is... alright and then Loaded is just super samey. Also the tinny production can get pretty grating.
>>65110515
No I actually enjoy TVU the most so I can't really relate. There is something about some kind of love that gets to me
TVU has bare chill vibes
loaded has 1 good song (rock n roll) but that one song is also one of their best songs
wlwh is sick noise rock
tvu&n is kinda overhyped but still an extremely good album
>>65110565
TVU has some standout tracks, but I find it difficult to focus on the album as a whole. Lou's vocals never seem to change, almost as if he's singing the same song every time. The chord progressions are usually pretty predictable on a lot of their material as well. I definitely don't dislike them, but damn, I was expecting more I think.
What am I missing here? This is nowhere near as good as EVOL, Daydream Nation, or Goo.
listen to schizophrenia again but try not to have shitty taste this time
>>65110180
Schizophrenia is good but the rest of the album was a disappointment.
>>65110105
>Goo
Holy shit kill yourself, that album is inconsistent garbage, Dirty is way better. So is Sister. Give it a few more spins.
name my noise rock band, /mu/. We sound like Lightning Bolt but with screamo vocals
Lightning Bolt Except Shitty
blinding stuck
Uaeeaueiie
Remember when I was in high school and all you listened to was Nine Inch Nails?
What's the "grown-up" version of NIN?
Gustav Mahler
Throbbing Gristle, Coil, Psychic TV, the list goes on...
Death Grips

>>65110088
It's one of my all-time favorite folk albums. Laughing 'til Tomorrow and Patrice are beautiful.
