Kid A has an 80 on metacritic but is hailed as the masterpiece of the 2000s.
MPP has an 89/100 on metacritic and is in the same ranks as Kid A.
Lemonade has a 93/100 on metacritic.
Consider /mu/core BTFO by Beyonce
Beyonce is shit. People only care because of her stomp and wiggle dancing.

Hey man you can't criticize Beyonce the album is for black people only
Music reviewing is all run by cuck, nu male, atheist, blm supporter writers of POPTIMISTS. 93/100 is bascilly throwing in the ultimate cuck card for the most planned, over produced, under written trash of an album like LEMONADE.

Memes
define "memerap"
The entire genre of hip-hop is a meme, as it's objectively inferior/cheaper music.
We've tried to make ourselves believe rap is an "essential" genre and that if you don't like it you must be close minded. That's why this music has no staying power. All of rap is just a sub-genre of top-40 pop, with a "urban" paint job.
This music doesn't stand the test of time, it's a fad. That's why rappers are discussed about like fashion. Image/fashion/numbers sold are actually considered when talking about them.

What music is the modern day equivalent to progressive rock in the 1970s? As in it's really ostracized and only listened to by nerds?

Are there any great composers that weren't theoretical geniuses or classically trained?
>>65145068
Jean-Jacques Rousseau comes to mind as he was more of a philosopher than a professional composer.

Why was 1971 so great?
Wow this is such an awful year for music. Only ten years ago we had Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Now we have Tony Orlando.
hey /mu/, friendly music insider here who knows a bit more than you about The Avalanches new record. Their secret: the thousands of "samples" on their new record are all original instrumentation, spoken word, foley, etc. Have a nice night.
Sure it is
De La Soul did it first.
cool
How good of a punk album is this? Was it a higher point for Green Day? Or is it just as bad as 21st Century Breakdown? What's the best song on the album, and why is it Pulling Teeth?
My favorite album when I was 13
