Looking to buy a Midi controller under $200 pic related worth it?

If you're a meme producer, than yes.
honestly OP it's really shit. you should consider saving up some more money and buying something in a higher price range rather than wasting your money on crap equipment. then again, i don't know what your needs are and what you're trying to achieve with a midi controller, but i'd still just generally recommend holding out for something better.
I have an akai lpd8 and korg nanokey2 and they both work well for me as far as midi controllers go. I haven't used what you're looking at but I love akai

dragon-looking creature
his hand is holding his chin
he's smiling quite jewishly
just looks like a ceiling with a black square.
You have 10 seconds to name a rock band from the last 25 years that is both critically acclaimed and culturally relevant. Please note that commercial success is not synonymous with cultural relevance.
Impossible Mode: No Nirvana.
Oh wait, you can't.
R.I.P Rock
Please note:
>The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, The Mars Volta, Franz Ferdinand, The Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Bloc Party, The Libertines, Blur, Pulp, Suede, and Interpol are not culturally relevant, all of them are fad artists associated with...

I made this blackened noise track, what you guys think of it?
https://clyp.it/g3mp3wxl
Those were some pretty spooky synths but it didn't feel very "blackened" in general. However I like the vibes and would be interested in hearing where you take this. I make, or try to make, blackened noise too, so I'm always interested in other makers of that style. What sort of equipment are you using?
>>65170367
Thanks for the feedback man :D
>What sort of equipment are you using?
Just FL Studio (plz don't laugh)
>>65170416
Nah I don't judge on DAWs. I use a couple myself and they're all free and all probably shitty programs by most people's standards (they're audacity and reaper btw) but I think when used properly any of these DAWs can produce decent stuff.
Anyway were you using like a midi controller for the synthy section or just programming that in with your mouse and such?
Hey guys i've been having a pretty shit couple of weeks. I need some music that will make me feel pretty good.
this is the happiest album i know op
fuck off

I have vivid synesthesia.
Post a song and ask me what flavor, temperature, or color it is (colors change with verses moreso than other things), also which muscle groups it resonates in
also general questions are fine

What do you think about this?
>>65169673
Holy shit, I'm listening to that song right now
>>65169673
That song is a horizontal vortex of vibrant blue, green, and gold/white in pastel tones.
It doesn't have a taste, just a heaviness on my tongue like magnesium or something.
I can feel it in my lower legs, but it also vibrates up my sides and hugs me
It feels like I'm walking very slowly through that vortex towards the sun, and the sun does have a taste and it's mostly just leafy, with no temperature to the taste It smells like warm dirt
What's your honest opinion on "jam bands"? Musical genuis, or a bunch of druggies who can't play their instruments?
Both :^)
>>65169441
Depends on the band. The Dead could really play, very well actually. If you haven't already, check out live/dead. Most definitely not just druggies who can't play their instruments.
>>65169441
neither
>genre: french psychedelic country
i love jason aldean too
>genre: experimental

Bullshit.
Hey /mu/ what are some good bands to get into shoegaze?
smashing pumpkins or my vitriol are my favorites
they're sort of alt rock-y but have the same wall of sound sensibility
also I thought that picture was a deleted scene from peep show for a second
>>65169442
My vitriol sounds pretty good got anymore like them man?
>>65169442
This. Mayonaise by The Smashing Pumpkins was the song that got me into shoegaze.
