the "pet sounds" of the 90s

This is my favorite album, but I'd kinda disagree. Didn't do much for music all things considered.

>Didn't do much for music all things considered.
What does that even mean? Music shouldn't be some obligation you owe or contribute.
>>65207214
I guess it's not so much an obligation that new music has to contribute to the art form as a whole, but rather that it had nothing new to offer. i.e. a lack of originality often detriments a work's overall quality because of association with an overabundance of its kind and style.
>he skips the ear-shattering alarm clocks at the beginning of Time

Any fans of Stereolab here? What's your favorite release? Pic related
I haven't listened to much from them but I loved Dots and Loops and Emperor. I didn't really dig Transient Random Noise Bursts, it seems like thats the "patrician" pick in here.
CWAZY
I've only heard Transient Random Noise Bursts and Emperor Tomato Ketchup. While I prefer the latter I think both albums are excellent.
This album is transcendental. How can anyone dislike it?
>>65206270
Who dislike it? Pretentious avant teens?
Yeah but have you heard the new Hunter Hunt Hendrix song?
I never heard it but I bet it sucks t b h
Little known fact... Zach Hill is actually the one rapping on Hacker.
>>65206170
one word
hella fu*cking epic
>>65206170
Yeah right, next you're gonna tell me it's DOOM wearing the mask.

DA FUCC?
Cover art aside, what did you think of this album? Still has an intoxicating appeal to me, top grade pop.

Famous for being featured in Newgrounds cartoons in the early 2000s, this is the album containing all of their well known hits!

What's an album that was panned by Pitchfork that you love?
>>65205807
Danse Manatee
remind me OP what they said about Lateralus?
>>65205842
Kek, they don't even list the review on AnCo's p4k page, surprised they didn't delete it.
Why is Immunity such a good album, /mu/? Jon Hopkins in general has such a slew of good songs but Immunity just steals the show. Also, what are similar albums to Immunity and what's your favorite electronic album.
>>65205780
Hey. Great album.
Definitely check out Daniel Avery's "Drone Logic"
Trust me. If you loved Immunity then you're in for a treat.
>>65205939
Not OP but this is sick, exactly what I've been looking for!
>>65205939
Meh, it doesn't seem far off from Jon Hopkins style, but I guess the vocals in there just takes something away from it.
>listens to Fela Kuti once

ITT: Listen to the album posted below you
Allright, since I've been kindof wanting to post this in one of these. In lieu of an album, listen to Stashteca. The whole suite is about album length.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahjTguRSjJY
(the improvisational suite I'm referring to is Stash > Manteca > Stash > Dog Faced Boy > Stash. It ends at about 47:00. I you hear them playing Strange Design you've reached the end, but staying for YEM / Immigrant Song isn't a bad idea)
anyone else /hankwilliams/ here?
first album i owned as a child was his greatest hits, just getting back into him now.

PSA: GG Allin's acoustic memes are oddly similar to Hank's music.

He's great
I'm also a big fan of Jimmie Rodgers
