but 3 of those are great
Why did AnCo never make any other album with harmonies this complex?
>>65314590
hocus

focus
the harmonies in Spirit in the Sky were just as complex. Its probably just the production/atmosphere they created that made it stand out more
We must be listening to different albums because I don't see anything complex about the harmonies on this album at all.
what are your top 5 favorite of this year so far?
1. Moonface and Siinai - My Best Human Face
2. Hammock - Everything and Nothing
3. Julianna Barwick
4. Postiljonen - Reverie
5. Roly Porter - Third Law

Wait never mind. I'm an idiot.
Rock isn't dead, it's just not very popular, even here on /mu/ where there's no excuse to not know about good current rock releases
Post good rock albums that have come out this year. I'll start!

This is much much heavier, although I would still consider it a descendant of punk rock moreso than heavy metal.
Video is really cool too

Beehoover is German two piece (drums and bass guitar). At a glance it might sound like a stripped down Tool fronted by Serj Tankian, but these guys go all over the place.

Rock is dead because is compltely drained. There's nothing new to add on that genre. Every new act that appears is just rehashed shit.
How do white musicians and music fans feel about the fact that we invented literally every genre of music? How do you reconcile the fact that everything you do or like is cultural appropriation?
>>65314071
>we invented literally every genre of music
But you didn't. Blues came from European folk music and jazz came from European swing music.
>B8 this bad will get genuinely angry replies
why do people like this album it's so boring
Is it just me or does that shirt design look like it would go great on an album cover?
>implying people listen to shirts

Some of us use punctuation when expressing our feelings speaking or typing and writing. Maybe we have more patience than you.
Hey guys, let's do this.
What are you listening to? How are your projects? Post gear, talk about noise, blah blah blah
Pic related is a recent favorite
This is my setup currently. I'm using a cheap radio as a sound source and running that through a few distortion pedals. I also have a drum machine. Below the wooden stands are some concealed cables and the surge protector and stuff
Post your setups noise bros
this is an old picture of not all my shit
I'll take one in the dark if this thread lives
This is what I do with it

>Lou Reed died at 69
>David Bowie died at 69
>Iggy Pop just turned 69
>Memewie
Lou Reed made Lulu
Bowie made Blackstar
Pop made Post Pop Depression
>Each album starts with the first syllable of the artists name
>Memey Pop
Why do people listen to this when its so dated and twenty one pilots did the same thing better?
>nevermind
>dated

Best: Heavydirtysoul
Runner-up: Stressed Out
Worst: Tear In My Heart
Overrated: Ride
Underrated: We Don't Believe What's On TV
>>65313438
Stressed Out is nowhere near top 3 on the album
Goner is better than heavydirtysoul
i really like I Wish We Could Turn Back Time
why the fuck do you not worship at the altar of this album
why would anyone do this
I dont
>>65313409
because it's fucking perfect
how can you not listen to every goddamn track on this album
hear those fucking beautiful melodies and those string harmonies
those incredible guitar licks
and Win's goddamn Pixies like emotive voice
how does that not fucking re-engage your belief in God
Which of these albums would you say is heavier?
http://www.strawpoll.me/10364923
How do you define 'heaviness'?
Neurosis and I think sludgyness is what is heavy. Pounding drums and slow crushing guitar riffs
>>65313298
This
While Slayer is certanly a heavy metal band, there a lot of black metal bands out that aren't really metal, just satanic hardcore punk
>>65313162
i listened to reign in blood and fell asleep on the third song, so i'd say the one on the right
