Pitchfork is a multi million dollar ad sales network that does nothing for obscure music unless it is right outside their front door, or if it's an artist whose PR firm is one that they are cozy with. Pitchfork deliberately keep the artists down that they "discover", control them, and give them a 5.0 when they decide their carreer is over. Meanwhile, P4K made about $150.000 in ad sales to Lexus, Miller Coors, and Topman while said band was a hot news item on their page. Do the bands see any of that ad money? Fuck no. They make shit. Ryan Schreiber's condo...

Why does /mu/ hate RHCP I think they're extremely versatile and for all the shitty things that have happened to them, and them still be popular is pretty great. I also think they're guitar and bass players (Not to mention underrated Chad) are amazing better than a lot of popular bands I see, but IDK it's just my opinion.
Buttrock. That is all.
Most people like this
They're extremely popular, so /mu/ hates them. Thread over
Mustache edition
Why is it that /classical/ is full of band kids who still are afraid of late-20th century/21st century music?
>>65316800
Because most of it isn't actually music, but nice try

Calm down friend...I'm still exploring the early stuff. In it's due time i will start to listen to more stuff made after ww2.
I simply like to have a better understanding of things, who influenced who and why did things went in a certain direction.
Is this the music equivalent of shitposting?
I unironically think eccojams is a 10/10
Not even close, this is though:

If Pink Floyd didnt make this, King Crimson wouldnt have made Court of the Crimson King
this is pretty much the birth place of prog and its a great album and very psychedelic
It's shit. It's a space shuttle whos crew just lost its captain. Floyd had no clue what the fuck they were doing on this album without Barrett. The albums in between Piper and Meddle are Floyd finding its legs.
Not to be rude, but technically the band that created prog rock
>>65316953
Shit, what I meant to say was that The moody blues was the band that created prog rock

>1. “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” by The Who. The conservative movement is full of disillusioned revolutionaries; this could be their theme song, an oath that swears off naïve idealism once and for all. “There’s nothing in the streets / Looks any different to me / And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye. . . . Meet the new boss / Same as the old boss.” The instantly recognizable synthesizer intro, Pete Townshend’s ringing guitar,...

Any of you met anthony fantano IRL? He seems like a nice guy who really cares about music and the opinions of his viewers. I would want to sit down and discuss music with him for an hour or so.
I wouldn't cause I'm not a dumb loser lmao!
he knows a very small amount about everything, basically the skyrim of music critics.
Can /mu/ explain why this album is so universally acclaimed? I'm definitely a fan of the Beatles' music
but most of the songs on it just seem so messy with lots of half baked ideas.
Its got a few classic Beatles songs on it, sure, but its far from being a perfect album. Or am I completely
missing the point, and that its crudeness is why people like it so much?
It isn't universally acclaimed it's by far their most divisive late-period album
Happiness is a Warm Gun, Helter Skelter
it's the Beatles, that's why it's critically acclaimed.
