No nostrils. Can't tell if mare or effeminate stallion, eyelashes might help. Left forehoof looks a bit small. Right foreleg/shoulder look too high up and not very attached to the body. Moving that leg in would fix it, but the body should then be turned to be facing the viewer more to make the grip on the sign less painful looking. Patterns on the forehooves don't seem to match with each other, especially at the tips. Maybe a more pronounced calcaneus for the right back leg.
Nice looking lines and composition, though the cutoff 'H' and dip in the top of the sign not lining up with the logo bother me too.

References for good adventurer fashion aren't exactly easy to come by, so my first thought would be just to wing it.
I was thinking the one on the left in pic related would be okay for him if it were a brighter color (likely a pinkish-purple to match his eyes). It's lighter and looks easier to move and hold tools in than a lot of other pics I was looking at.

Well if you're asking about shading, first off your stuff doesn't look bad. Here's some junk I've found helpful.
1)Braeburned made a nice, simple shading tutorial, so if you haven't seen that you could look it up. Just cover your drawing in a multiply layer, then erase (or use white) where your lightsource would hit the figure. Always think about where your light source is, since that is what is going to make your shadows!
2) Proko does a good job explaining the basics of lighting if you want to know that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dqGkHWC5IU The terms at 8:49 are good to know I guess
Of course, it just depends on how you want your shading to look. Doesn't have to be realistic: going for more "graphic designy" shading looks nice too. Just some suggestions, you don't have to do any of this, of course. Cause it looks fine so far.
