I'm going to be perfectly honest with you, and I admit this is shameful, it was actually going to originally end with AJ swooping in with a new perspective on Chitty and essentially telling everyone they're being idiots.

But then when the other guy wanted to have her in the fight, which like I said back then I was totally okay with, I started to rework it, and I thought that the buildup to her understanding Chitty, while it would have explained any new knowledge of her and maybe a way to hurt her like nobody else has to stop her rampage, would've been a waste of potential.

After they decided that was an anticlimax and she stayed in the lab, I planned to go back to her just being the hero, but the reason this didn't go up yesterday is I ended up thinking 'This is a complete waste of character development' just to have it resolved like that, and one particular suggestion to have AJ come in and be the one looking for the truth really resonated with me. So, I decided to have her be the only sane mare who now is going to be looking for answers... even though Cantelot is felling like a million bucks, and winners.

This frees her up from having to focus on Sunset, since she's gone anyway and Chitty already proved they can't find her, so she can go clear her head if need be without making it look like she's abandoning her duties again or just putting everything on hold and running away, it also frees her up to go visit other places and finally have a legit reason to worldtrek so we can worldbuild a bit, and finally it gives her a reason why she's the one who needs to confront Chitty eventually, and not just because "She's the main character so obviously it's going to be HER".

This one changed so much as the feedback came, you have no idea.

Secondly, no longer are her limbs, stomach and lower back unarmored besides the hooves and dem flanks, it covers all now!

And last but not least, her improved helmet! No longer will those pesky cheek plates be in the way of my beloved side smiles and roars! They shift position from social interaction to BATTLE MODE! Woooooo! I'm feeling all kinds of good!

The armor is capable of helping her sustain her larger size for longer than before! For Mecha Chitty obviously Not only that but it's all chitin! No fancy mats used, just magically shaped for better fit and abilities, cause that's the only thing that actually grows with her.

It's amazing really, I mean her first armor was designed with the whole minimalists nature of 'Royal Garb' and the whole changeling heart munching/destorying thing that was pretty common in their culture. It's why the plating was so damn thick and cumbersome, to make sure it was harder than anything to get to it directly no matter the means, everything else was more or less forgotten because she could fend everything else off herself. Then as time went on I added the under armor 'swimsuit', the flank plating and her punching shoes to make her look fuller than what I had original designed back then in my inexperience while keeping her mostly the same.

Now though, I thought of everything, cause to her the game and time has changed and she needs to adjust! Everything was taken into consideration while keeping everything more or less the same. No fancy materials, no extra magical mumbo jumbo, just enhancing everything she already had to the next level or two. Super compressed, shaped chitin for better protection and better mobility. (though the mobility thing is more or less meta for me)

Nothing that would maker her an instant 'Too OP plz nerf!' Just a reasonable upgrade, and I had figured out the liquid chitin/simpson's wax idea ages ago and it really isn't anything over the top. I put off mentioning that forever just so I could wait for the right time and now is perfect!

Oh I just can't wait to see what the writefriend puts up when we get to her again!

It hadn't been long before the celebration reached her, and she was all but forced to bite off her tongue to keep from screaming at the ponies swinging in a full frenzy of their party all around. She kept her head low, stuck to the shadows as best she could and was as silent as the night as she crept her way to the castle. She knew that she should have been long gone by now, staying around the temptation of mocking the ponies for thinking her mother felled was great. She should have left the instant the celebration had begun, but couldn't.

Not until the last visage of Sunset's words had ended, and she knew her mother had not fallen as they so declared. She still recalled the final words the Queen had spoken, the sensation it had brought still leaving a feeling both sharp and soothing in her chest, and the icy grip in her heart that had been when she thought it would be her final memory, before she was presented with her mother's corpse.

>Go ahead and have fun, celebrate. I don't care... she'll come back, and then you won't be cheering anymore.

She didn't bother to hide the bitterness under her breath, nobody would hear her anyway. She didn't bother to hide the slight upturn of her lips, nobody paid attention to notice. All she cared about was getting inside the castle, and hoping none recognized her on the way there.

The walls of the grand hall provided an excellent buffer to the sounds, sparing her at last from having to hear the resonating calls of joy at her mother's defeat. It did not drown it out, but at least she could hold off on the sharp feelings in her head that sang of all she could do to them.

She was almost home free.

"THIRTEEN! Oh, thank goodness, Ah've been lookin' everywhere for you!"

She was not nearly foolish enough to think something was actually going to go right today.

She was not stupid, and knew that currently, she was on Equestrian soil, they could nail her with any crime they wanted on the books to hold her, and every single one of them would assume she would know where her mother was... or how to track her down, before she got back on her hooves.

This was their land, she had been an associate of the one who had destroyed it, and she was in their castle. They had all the cards, and she had seen first hoof they knew how to play them against someone who challenged them.

"Look, jus... come with me, please? Ah' need ta' get this all sorted out, and yer' the only one who can-"

Her lips kept moving, but strangely, not another word came out. The princess kept trying to speak when she noticed, all but screaming to break her silence, but nothing came.

When the alicorn's eyes went wide, she knew that she had finally figured out her legs wouldn't work.

A single, long trickle of blood began to roll out from her chitinous nostril, her whole head straining as she remained totally focused on the mare, and nobody else.

The moment she began walking, the coast was clear, and the portal all but sang to her. She would return home, go back to the hive and the Amnesty they would give to her, and inform her Queen of everything. Her Majesty would protect her, she cared about them, every one. Her Highness wouldn't let any of the ponies take her, or force anything out of her, she knew for certain. She would tell them everything.

And they could prepare.

She gave a look to the guard, not letting him make a move, but more than happy to let him see her, and remember her. He would be the one to sound the call that their hope of using her was lost, and beyond their grasp.

The portal became a crescendo around her, and the cheers were at last silent.

I remember them doing that with Shiny, who had never actually done anything in the room but play Hyperspace Hyperwars and wasn't even present during the gunclub tournament, though.

And the story was so damn stupid it had Shiny literally saying "I put you in there but I need a special code to turn it off that I don't have" when they wanted to back out, which was even stupider because he DID have the codes for all of it and could not only delete stuff but reprogram the damn thing, and just telling them they needed to nut up and kill each other, and then the OC chewed out Shining for doing all of that OOC stuff and he just sadly accepted he was a shit and agreed to never let anyone use the room again.

Then the author took the feedback and it reworked it and it came out to be a coherent, in character story that finally ended the "Guard harassing changelings" subplot and was the first stepping stone to the development they have now.

Those actually were fun times.

That one's not so bad, as Celly brought up a good point in that why would they assume any of their citizens are lying when the thing happened in public, and everyone is saying the same thing? So her plan hadn't worked perfectly, so all the effort with her lings technically didn't matter, so she didn't get to play the badguy again, so what?

In the end, she just had to sit back and enjoy how well everything was going for her. She had found what was wrong with her Shiny, and they could work on it together. Everyone knew she wasn't crazy, and she wouldn't have to keep making a fool of herself. Her lings were well fed, her home stable, and her subjects loyal.

Even her relationship with Applejack, previously the ultimate thorn in her side, had finally become something she could stand, and perhaps even come to like. Soon, Twilight would give her full access to the knowledge of the Orb, and with it, she could peer into the depths of the Hivemind. She could bolster her already impressive forces, and with it, she could possibly reinvigorate her entire race.

A mere hoof full of Queens is all it would take to completely revitalize them, and with it, her nation could become a true force to be reckoned with. Soon, she would have it, and so much more. So many powers thought lost to time, so many abilities soon to be hers. Both those forgotten, and those merely hidden.

Those she cared about were in fine standing and improving, those she wished to see better were doing well, her home was stable, and her future bright.

It was good to be Queen.
