There's probably dozens of things Spike would prefer to do with his weekends besides reshelving books. Whether talking hoofball or seeing if Rarity needs help with production or just walking around Ponyville, it's things he's done before that he liked. But what he wants more than all that is to maintain his #1 Assistant status with Twilight Sparkle. After all their time together, it's a comfort all its own.
Not that he won't squeeze in massages and gem snacks as compensation for the particularly slow prospects. There's a certain amount of take earned.

It had some good gags, but overall it just seemed to drag a bit with not much but fluff in between it all. Twilight's admitting of her actual intentions and coming to terms with it was surprisingly sweet, if not a bit too close to home. Still, overall I'd put it at 6 or 7/10.

The episode was pretty slow. It was a relief to see a story focusing on Twilight learning a lesson for a change, though. I don't think that's happened since The Crystal Empire. Amending Fences almost counts, but she was just fixing an old mistake there, not working out anything she didn't already know.

Honestly the only bad thing about it is how goddamn cringey was to watch Twilight doing what she was doing, but that was the fucking point.
Also it's nice to see that Discord is finally making new friends besides Fluttershy and that the rest of the main six actually gave him a real chance.
And at the end Twilight breaking down and admitting she was jealous was pretty sentimental.

Speaking as a big fan of both Twilight and Discord, I don't think I'd like Discord if he wasn't more than a bit of a dick. It's how he was introduced, after all. Having him be the trickster mentor of the show has always struck me as more in character than just making him nice and naive, plus it can be a lot funnier. Sure, I wouldn't want him doing it if there were serious risks involved, but in a low-stakes situation it makes sense that he'd want to have some fun, especially with someone as neurotic as Twilight.
Plus, as >>25396959 mentioned, he is becoming closer to the main six. He's actually developing into more of a protagonist. He just happens to have a different way of doing it.

It's easier to bitch, to criticize and to point out negative things. It also always leads to more discussion about that and honestly I don't mind it as long as people don't go to extremes like so many did with Twilycorn at the end of season 3.
If they have valid complaints or valid justifications for those complaints I honestly don't mind. It can lead to some pretty interesting discussions.
And the show is not perfect. I have some complaints about the Crusaders of the Lost Mark, and I feel that they fucked up certain things but in the end it's still a goddamn great episodes and despite some of the problems I have about the cutie marks it still was so fucking incredible and sweet to see the CMC get their cutie marks and still be together.

Recent episodes like The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows and Hearthbreakers have made big additions to the show (Cadance's baby, the Pie family, shipping with Big Mac) but they haven't been making as big an event of it as certain other episodes did. I don't especially mind. It feels like we're in the calm before the storm. The season's been dropping hint after hint toward what will happen in the finale, and I'm hoping the wait will pay off.

It's still a goddamn excellent episode. Fuck I want to congratulate them for making me like Diamond Tiara without really resorting to bullshit. It's a fucking better redemption than Sunset had in a goddamn movie.
It just seems to me that they really didn't think that much about the CMC cutie marks, which should have been the main thing in my opinion, not something that kinda felt slapped on at the end. And the cutie marks themselves and their meaning just makes me question some things and think that they changed everything at the last moment.
It's still a great episode, the cutie marks still work, the ending was sweet as fuck with everyone being happy and while I have complaints they don't stop me from enjoying it but even if they are small and irrelevant now they still are in my head and I think about them when I rewatch the episode.

Discord and Sunset Shimmer's redemptions came out of nowhere. I mean, I like them both and one can kind of get what happened with Sunset in retrospect since Friendship Games went into more detail on the subject, but at the time it made no sense. Trouble was, they didn't establish a sympathetic side to the characters before reforming them. Plus they made a complete 180 from bad to good rather than a slower transition.
Trixie's redemption was passable, but shallow. They did establish beforehand that the amulet had been messing with her head, so it was understandable that she'd regret some of her actions. Unfortunately we didn't get to see anything beyond that.
Diamond Tiara and Gilda, on the other hand, had their motives explained and the main characters had to spend time figuring them out before it was possible to get through to them. It was a careful process, and they showed a lot of resistance before they finally turned around.

Mercifully, I didn't encounter many of them. I would think them stupid. A person (pony-person?) can do a 180 when they're like, thirteen, but it gets a lot less believable when they're 30 or 3,000.
DT is just a kid. Plus, the writer gave her some real incentive by having her best (only?) friend turn on her and revealing that her mom was a complete bitch. If you're going to alter a character, put her under some real pressure. They did.
DT's mom is one of the roughest things we've seen in the series. Might as well tell us that Fluttershy's parents were abusive now. We've seen one like that already.

And the problem is that it's the character development from two of the best goddamn episodes in the show, Green isn't your color and Best Night Ever. How all her friends were meh, who cares that she's acting insane, except AJ who somehow was the only one seeing that something is wrong and being the only one that wanted to do something. Too bad it was executed so poorly, because it was a fantastic concept.

She has been shown multiple times to be capable of being serious and professional when she needs to be.
She can be incredibly childish and cute when alone or with her friends but whenever in public she acts as she should. Sweet and Elite has shown that she is business savy enough to know that she needs to know the right people, make the right connections and so on. The fact that she also runs her own business and kept it afloat till Twilight came to town , a business that really is a niche in Ponyville and in the pony world itself shows that she has to know some things.
The most I can agree with you is that she might not charge enough but even then she knows she has to have some premium prices otherwise everyone will think she's just something cheap for poor ponies, not the elite.
Also how the fuck is her accent fake? She has been using it since she was younger than Sweetie Belle. Everything points out that that's how she spoke her entire life. How? I don't know but somehow despite her parents she has.
Canterlot Boutique: Decent episode, not fantastic but still enjoyable. Sassy was fun.
Rarity Investigates: Not my cup of tea, felt a bit forced. Rarity did boost it up a bit.
Made in Manehattan: Coco was cute, rarijack was cute, all the ponies were cute. Conflict was a tiny bit contrived but not bad. Still a bit lackluster.
Brotherhooves: I laughed too much to not rate this highly. It took something I'd normally cringe at and made it more than bearable. Big Mac and Apple Bloom were cute together and the ending was amazing.
Crusaders of the Lost Mark: Best filly got the spotlight she deserves and a redemption I never expected. Liked 99% of it, songs were really too notch.
The One With The Title Stolen From Friends: Predictable, not super exciting, but there were still good gags. Might have been better if Plenk hadn't told us the secret in the cold open. Still enjoyable.
Hearthbreakers: Really great to finally meet the Pies. Lots of great character interactions. Conflict was a surprisingly mature one and was handled well. Pies/10
Scare Master: Another mature moral and a fun episode. Cute scared ponies.
What About Discord: Really odd episode, wasn't sure if I liked it much. Discord is still great but the build-up was overkill. Definitely liked the ponies defending Discord, along with calling out Twilight for thinking they couldn't defend themselves.
