Let's assume that you somehow make it to Equestria and meet your waifu. There's only one problem: she's not interested in you. Maybe you're just incompatible, maybe she just wants to stay friends, maybe she's already in a relationship. Basically she will never, ever, love you.
My question is - would you keep her as your waifu and pine over her from a distance or would you honestly consider a relationship with another pony, considering you would be in a position to do so after all?

My waifu, if I'm being completley honest, is nothing more than my personal version of an idealized mate and companion. If the real version doesn't match up to the ideal, then I'll just accept that fact and move on with my life.
The idea of having some sort of guarantee that my devotion is returned doesn't really appeal to me that much. I would be perfectly fine if things turned out to be mutual, however I would also be perfectly happy if things just didn't work out that way. All I want is one shot, one opportunity. That would be enough for me, regardless of the outcome.
As for whether or not me moving on would involve me trying to take on another paramour? I'm not entirely sure. I'm pretty solitary by nature, and because I doubt there are very many people or ponies who can hold my interest romantically for very long.
I think, the most honest thing for me to say is that if things didn't work out between my waifu and I that I wouldn't be adverse to having a relationship with another pony, or some other sapient creature.
