This is a project that aims to create an album of music from /mlp/. It'll be a compilation, potentially containing everything from originals, remixes, collaborations, etc. The past efforts never came to fruition, so we're trying once again. If you create music, sing, rap, create art, write lyrics, have ideas, or just want to participate, jump right in. Add yourself to the GDoc and/or please email [email protected] who you are, what you do, contact info (May include preferred email, YouTube, etc), and anything else.

Basically anything is acceptable. This means complete originals, remixes, collaborations, soundscapes, etc.
>How do I submit my music/art?
Please submit a mastered/unmastered WAV or AIFF. Please upload it to a site that doesn’t compress the audio file (Like Dropbox and Mediafire. NOT Vocaroo), and then share the download link. You can also upload to OneDrive (https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=C6319434888276ED%21105. To upload, post your email in the thread or email [email protected], and we'll add you). If you don’t post in the thread, please email [email protected] so we know for sure you’re submitting something.

Alrighty guys. I've got a new project in the works for this that I think we can have some fun with. I took to time to put together an instrumental cover of Van Halen's "Jump" and me and Sound guy re-wrote the lyrics. We've changed the "Jump" to "Bump" and all we need is some really simple submissions. We just need random anons for the "Bump!" shout similar to how "Jump!" is yelled in the original Van Halen tune. Good news goys, The first still was finished. I need some feedback. Pic related is ONE of MANY stills to be made. If anyone doesn't know what still animation is it is simplistic animation using various poses of a character. It sacrifices mobility for a more detailed character while still keeping in good time.

I'd rather keep everything else though. I am not trying to step on toes here but there is a reason I recommended Christina. She has an art degree and is a professional. Also she has designed family crests before. We need to trust her on this. I guarantee it will get better feedback from the public if we trust her on some of these details.

You also got to remember that this was not initially planned for the album art. This is kinda sudden so bare with me. I admit we had ideas for including in the album art in the chat a couple months ago but nothing was set in stone. So I told Christina we wanted a crest/emblem. She, nor I, could have imagined it was suddenly going to be used as a center-piece for the album cover.
Pic related is the couple options we have for placement. They are just ideas. We can do more options. But the final decision needs to be from more than just you and I. I'd hate to jump the gun on it only to have someone come to the thread later and start complaining.

If you could start drawing or illustrating the things you want to see also then I can work more effectively. But that's just a request. There are a shit ton of different colours that don't really go together and ,like I mentioned before, there is just to much to look at.
The purple horn looks out of place in contrast to the black, green, and gold adjacent to it. And the red border around the central logo could use a hue shift.
This album has a lot of different genres of music, from folk to dubstep computer farts. Its going to be hard to make something that is ambiguous to genres but still represents music and ponies.and our lustrus desire to cum inside rainbow dash

Right, so my initial thoughts on this were similar to FolkFag's: there's too much going on.
With all the notes flying everywhere and it took me a while to realise I was staring at a bass drum and, the longer you stare at it, the sooner you realise there's also a pair of wings etc.
Having it against a black background (>>26934731) helps to hide the flurry of notes and highlights the wings, though.Also, similar to FolkFag, I think the horn and crown could do with being a different colour (gold or silver) but I'm not bothered by it as much.

Ok, I have some questions. Are the wings supposed to be partially transparent? I feel they should be colored in the same as the horn. Otherwise it is difficult to see at low resolutions. Additionally, I feel that we need to incorporate the album title "No Fun Allowed" in there somehow since that's pretty much what everyone voted for. If you are going to give feedback be as specific as possible. I want to have feedback designed in a way that allows me and my boy to redo these if needed. So please, try not to be over-general about your criticism. Although you guys are pretty good at not doing that.

Everyone complaining it's too busy, good, the album's a cluster fuck of genres and varying talent, and complaining about the wings and tiara is what /mlp/ has done long before this picture, I say it's good as is.

I like what I see so far... First off, personally the minimalist concept is stylish in its own way. I like it. But I can see why others might complain about it. Though it has a color concept that seems to be popular these days, that is, a color pallet that uses warm colors.
The second one is an improvement and something I think we should build off of. Beautiful backgrounds seem to be the go-to's for indie YT music videos these days.
The third is okay, better than the first but not as good as the second. But still has good qualities like the flickering bg and the high-def nature.
Overall good job WeimTeam (or whatever I hear you guys call yourselves these days). I personally think we should use ALL THREE concepts we have so far and build off of them making improvements based on feedback. Considering the fact that we have a ton of songs I think it would be a good idea to diversify the illustrations to keep viewer retention. Who knows? Maybe we can add in a bit more.I hope that was detailed enough feedback senpai.

Few notes:
First theme.
I absolutely love this list of artists. It shows that there's A LOT of us here. I vote for that thing to be in the final concept, it's great and simple.
I'm not a fan of this super-minimalistic design that goes in the main part of this thing, 2 reasons:
Album name looks kinda weak in that circle. Maybe it's because of the font.
This whole concept looks super-serious and my brain immediately associate it with something bad.
NO FUN ALLOWED. EVERYTHING IS GREY. WAR DRUMS PLAYING. WE MARCH ALL DAY TO THE WAR. GOD HATES US ALL. 2X2=5.
FREE YOURSELF FROM YOUR CUTIE MARK. etc.
C'mon, Weim. We're all fun and games and DRAMA here. No grey minimalistic concepts please.
Second theme.
Love this circle. These small particles looks awesome in HD.
Green theme is much more relaxing. Font in circle looks nice, but the name of the album looks weak. I suppose we just need to replace it with our emblem in every theme.
I'm not a big fan of background. This forest and river feels out-of-place for me. Background needs to be neutral or somehow related imo. Slap a pony in a boat onto the river at least. If that's not too hard, i mean, Then we should be able to use it for some of our more relaxing pieces. I need to check what music we have with that feeling.
Third theme.
Ahh, fantasy.
NFA looks pretty strong - though, i think, it needs some kind of underlay. Like, add black circles under these letters and it'd be much more constant.
Right now it's kinda pale on the left side.
Background feels nice for our creepy and dark pieces. Though, again - fantasy background is just asking to become more equestria-related. Slap some changelings here and there.
The bottom part fells strong and tight. I think it's good as it is.

Honestly all of these 3 can fit different songs, we have so many different styles, some layouts will benefit some songs more and vice-versa, if you see what I mean.
For example the second theme fits the used song very well, and it's the same with the third theme and its song. But if we were to swap them - I'll fly with theme 3, and Bombshell with theme 2 - it would be less fitting.
I could see theme 1 with a warmer background working with rock songs, theme 2 for folk or light electronic stuff, and theme 3 for heavier, "dark" music.
Though I suppose it would be a much larger amount of work to make all these different layouts for every song.
