The average McDonald's will only have 2 available at a time. They normally come in boxes each week or so, 2 toys at a time. Where I'm at there's about $2. So I think the price varies depending on loacation (like anywhere). If you happen to arrive on a good day they might have 3 or 4 available.
They go in order, toy1& 2, toy 3&4, etc. A few McDonald's in my area (southern Missouri) go out of order intentionally.
SOME McDonald's have a customer satisfaction box that has a sampling of all of them for just this kind of situation (a McDonald's toy collector). But the ones that do will do their damndest to not open it so they can send it back and get their money back at the end of the toy month.
Unless you get really fucking lucky you'll have to make multiple trips to multiple McDonald's to get them all.
Consider it a game. If you get more than one of each, you could try selling the second set next year to recoop some of your money. They'll get around $5-6 buck each on eBay. Unopened sells more obviously.
