Hey guys, Its been a while.
I didn't think i wasn't going to post any more Safe Haven dreams but fuck it, i had one last night thats been on my mind all day. It wasn't a lucid dream, but it was one of the most vivid I've had in the past few months. It popped out of nowhere because I've neglected my dream journal and don't remember as many as i did a year ago. I see haven once every few weeks but she never usually speaks, i just see her in passing and only remember afterwards.

First thing i remember is laying in a bed with my arms tied down. The bed extends way past my legs, probably double the size of a normal one. I'm wiggling my feet and trying to use my knees to snap whats holding me down but i cant get a hold, so i start to panic and thrash about. When i try to get a better look around i notice that one of my eyes is 'glued' shut, it feels like its pinched together. Out of one eye i realise i'm in a hospital room.
So i randomly start trying to scream "Its a fucking infection!" and shouting threats at the door to the room. Its a big rectangular room with those shitty painted teal walls they always have in hospitals. On the ceiling are giant, hanging strips of tape all around and i get the idea to stick my foot to one and try to pull myself out of the restraints (im retarded in dreams)
As i'm trashing frantically, i feel something lightly bat me on the cheek and i hear a playfully authoritative voice next to me

There she is, Haven hovering to the right but seemingly held up by her tail, as if something was holding it. (The entire tail from her tail dock appeared pulled upwards, but the top was untouched)
The relief i felt seeing her, the vividness, its why im posting. Long, oranges eyelashes framed around her amethyst eyes and the dark circles underneath them. Shittingly gorgeous. She changes slightly each time i see her but now her mane is unusually long at the back with two(or more?) hair ties. The front is the same as ever.
I try to point my head at the pieces of tape, "Are those fly traps?
With a slight corner-mouthed smile and her hoof raised, she monotonically says "poof!", with a matching arm 'poofing' motion, flicking it outwards.
Expected, but im still confused, "the hell does that mean?" (i don't know im dreaming at this point)
Haven glides from the air onto my legs and casually hops up to the side of my face, examining it
>"I can fix this, squish." "heh... get it?" (what?)
She wipes her hoof across my eye without touching it, and it feels as if it had never even been closed. I don't remember her doing anything about my arms, but i realise writing this that my arms were free regardless.
I can't stop staring at her eyes and i try to poke the baggies under them. She just nonchalantly bats my hand away and hugs me from the chest, her little arms around my neck and her legs each side of my waist. (and wide child-bearing hips for such a small thing)
I hear the meek little voice near my ear
>"Not going to become a stranger, right?"
I whisper "What're ya buyin'?"
And without a beat she answers in an attempted rough voice

We burst out laughing and it jolts me out of the dream. I haven't thought of those quotes in fucking years.
After a lot of stress in these past few months, i feel reinvigorated.

Safe Haven is a dream character who appeared to me in a nightmare a few years ago, then turning it into a dream. From then on, she appeared to me in multiple other dreams and i post them here from my dream journal.
She isn't a tulpa, just a character in my dreams with an usually stable, sentient personality.

"in passing" as in I've only been seeing her off in the distance or only realised she was in the dream after i had woken up. Probably because i haven't made remembering dreams my priority over the months.
When speaking literally about floating, she has flew through doors and walls before, which is expected in a dream.

Heh, I've had that thing where one of my eyes is stuck shut happen to me in several lucid dreams. It doesn't happen anymore, but it was a fucking bother back when it did.

It absolutely doesn't come natural to me. I have no imagination and i'm SHIT at most things, but i started looking into lucid dreaming around 17 and found it fascinating so I've been keeping up with it for a long time.
1. Get a dream journal
2. say "I WILL dream and i will remember it tomorrow" or something similar before you fall asleep. Repeat it like a mantra.Chances are high that your brain will do what you said. Its like bringing the idea to the front of your mind so its the first thing it'll process when you're asleep.
3. Write down anything you remember, even if its a single word. Everyone starts like this and you'll slowly be able to write more and more every morning.
4. Reality checks. Hold up your hand throughout the day and count your fingers. You will eventually do this in a dream because you've made it a habit, so you'll accidentally realise youre dreaming.
In theory its that simple. Persistence and more mother fucking persistence. I've been finding it a lot more difficult to get myself to write stuff in the morning because you just want to sleep in.

Personally I think it's more a glitch. I've been quite prolific with my sketches recently, and this isn't a common mistake for me.

Considering something I did in real-life about a week ago for the Anon I was assigned for the /mlp/ secret santa, followed by that Safe Haven thread popping up the other day out of nowhere (first one I've seen in god knows how long), and now you actually return; if I believed in such things I'd be inclined to say the timing feels like it couldn't have been a coincidence, but it's still uncanny how everything seemed to happen so close to each other. I can't elaborate further because there's a good chance my Anon is lurking in this thread (as he listed Safe Haven among his favorite ponies), but in any case it's good to see you back.

I have someone exactly like that in my dreams.
He/her name is Kahn/Maggie I am hyperactive and usually get out a ton, and I have lucid dreams mostly, You should try to go to sleep with music on, I mean like Holy hell those dreams are awesome.
Anyways Of course I have dreams of mlp and stuff and in some cases yes I do become a pony. Even though I don't feel it and stuff.
I have a pinkish blue coat, and I don't even know how that is possible. And Kahn is red with green stripes. And Maggie is white. And we all have black manes, and don't get confused Kahn and Maggie are one in the same. Depending what I saw most in that day mlp, mlp, mlp i usually have this dream, I actually have a whole story written about my life in equestria I don't know if you guys want to hear it or something but, like I said this guy/girl has been there to make my dreams a living fantasy. Although my best one is was when I lived though the WHOLE intro of fallout 4.

I think i had a similar experience as yours.
There was this pony who would help me out but i was afraid of it because people said it was a tulpa and i didn't wanted schizophrenia.
I started to fear it, ran off in my dreams and feel horrible afterwards. She started to morph into a monster and then into a shadow.
Then it turned into a pair of eyes to then just dissapear. Sometimes i see it as a shadow in my dreams that kicks me out of my dreams/wake me up intantly.

Well, the idea was originally the two facing off, (as in, one fights nightmares, whilst the other IS a nightmare, even if she is reformed).
Daft thing is, around a third of the old Haven stories had her fighting the nightmares and generally being a badass, but there's next to no art of that. it's nearly all cute stuff with a few mixed in with her holding weapons.
That said, the two of them snuggling with anon does sound worth a shot.

I actually rarely lucid dream, but I kinda recall one where I was at a party with everypony in Ponyville. Strangest thing though was that me and Pinkie were the ones hosting it. But in the middle of the party, I realized that I was actually Vinyl Scratch. I find it funny that this happened in this dream and another one last year. I did enjoy the party, though. It was a fucking blast.

For me a recurring element is a place.
Several of my non-lucid dreams have me somehow return to a highway. Its a 12+ lane road on approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the north. I drive on this road every day but for some reason in my dreams im walking in the middle of it, which i have obviously never done.
Ive heard that the reason for recurring elements in dreams is due to high levels of mental processing regarding the element. I can understand - constant traffic merging, bus lanes, speed limits, exits, definately a lot of mental processing going on when im there. Really interesting stuff.

Unless you're lucid dreaming, its difficult to dream about something in particular.
The only semi-reliable way is to have such good dream recall that you can remember a large amount of your dreams each night, increasing the chance of your brain dreaming about something in particular you want. Aim for lucid dreaming.
Your first step is to increase your dream recall, and the absolute best way is to write down anything you remember of your dreams in the morning, every single day.
You can write down anything. What you heard, seen, tasted, etc etc. did you see any symbols? draw them, did you feel any emotions? explain them in your diary.
As for when you're lucid, it really is just believing without a doubt that you can. People usually have trouble flying when lucid dreaming because a small part of them still believes it might be real, so they won't take a risk which would harm them in real life. I had a lot of trouble changing things in a dream, so i used to squeeze my eyes tightly, audibly say what i wanted to happen ("Make a random pony spawn in front of me") and usually it would happen.
Its as if your conscious and subconscious mind are separated in dreams and the subconscious is the guy hearing your wishes and creating the dream as you ask.

Well, I'm no expert on the matter of dreams, but taking a logical approach I'd say this.
Your mind tries to sort out events that occurred during the day whilst you are asleep, so many of the things that crop up are related to that.
If you want to dream with something specific, (say Haven turning up), try making sure you have seen several images of that during your day, especially just before you hit the sack.

A normal person will remember only a tiny amount of their dream in the morning, maybe 1%, and after a couple of minutes nothing at all.
Someone who writes down their dreams will remember a huge amount more, in a lot more detail and for a lot longer.
There isn't much point in trying to dream about something in particular if you're not going to remember it anyway because your dream recall is shitty.

Not too experienced in lucid dreaming here, just wanted some help.
Today I had a dream, dunno if it was lucid or not. It was sorta detailed, and I could remember it after waking up to the extent that it was like remembering a place I walked through five, ten minutes ago (take note that I don't usually focus on my surroundings).
I use my left and right hand interchangeably as part of my reality check (I have five fingers, etc.) and it sort of flashed into existence after dreaming for a bit.
It faded after a while, then shortly after I woke up. Didn't consciously count the fingers, but I recall that it was like a normal hand.

Lucid just means you were aware that you were dreaming while inside the dream.
A dream means you only realised after you woke up. Sounds like a lucid dream to me, though im guessing it wasn't that vivid.
It sounds like you've jumped the gun a bit and haven't increased your dream recall to a point where your vividness in dreams is at a decent level. When you're at that point, theres a distinct, unmistakable feeling of being lucid.
I recommend to anyone wanting to lucid dream to get a notepad and write down what you remember every morning.

Usually when someone lucid dreams for the first few times they get too excited and jolt themselves out of it by mistake. The excitement causes you to think about the fact that its a dream, and since its so easy to wake yourself up, you end up doing that.
I always get kicked out if i think about the real world too much. Though with Safe Haven, she seems to be a sort of stopper for that.
It probably has something to do with the fact your brain is processing senses and creating an entire world while dreaming, so if you try to comprehend the real world while inside a dream, your brain kicks you out automatically because you're trying to think of too many things at once.

The best way I've found to stop being kicked out is when you've realised you're dreaming, stand still and rub your hands together.
It stops you thinking too much and increases the dreams vividness. The idea behind it is, touch is one of the least simulated senses your brain produces in a dream, so if you force it to do simulate the feeling of friction and warmth, its forced to increase the vividness of everything else in the dream as well - therefore increasing lucidity.

I did that in my second lucid dream and also drew a circle on a wall with a stick. When i got into the building i saw the shadow and it paralyzed me, i kind of wanted to have a ''safe haven'' back then but i got afraid of it when it was to late because i though it was a tulpa or something like that. Had an odd dream last night, it was semi-Inception shit.
The first level was a non-lucid dream. For some reason I fell asleep on a couch in a restaurant (dont know why) in that dream and started dreaming and actually became lucid in that second level dream. However I had very limited control and became frustrated and started waking up.
Now, the most confusing thing about it was at one point i started walking up from level 2 and i could faintly see the restaurant in level 1 reappearing but in the corner of my left eye i could also see my bedside table in the real world starting to appear. I shut my eyes and said "Focus" and when i opened them i was back in the restaurant on level 1 again only this time i was lucid and had full control for about 5min before i woke up.

So anyways I wake up in an ice rink on a bench like the one from the game, dark dreams don't die so anyways I looked at my hands, which were hooves then after seeing a seal ice skate for 10 seconds and feel in I realized I was dreaming, and I tried to walk but I fell into the ice and feel on more ice on the other side, I saw Garnet, Steven, Pinkie, And Safe Haven, and I have no idea where I got SU from soon I saw Garnet singing let it go, and me and safe haven went into an elevator but I dropped my wings, and yes I was an alicorn, we all have that one dream, so the elevator goes off without me so I grab on the the elevator rail, still lucid there is an ledge and I jump on it and I walk into the only door then I see Donald trump constantly yelling.
"YOU CANT STUMP THE TRUMP"
And that was only only thing he said, then Laura Croft, Safe Haven, Frisk, Samurai Jack, Derp Face all sat together as we sung, Have you heard of the muffin Man, me barely singing because I don't know the words and I could tell that they didn't either because again I did not know the words then me and Laura Croft Kissed turning me into Nathan Drake from Just Cause and then I woke in my bed, In equestria as anon, then I woke in my house.

People are somewhat preoccupied with the Christmas season right now. I always keep an eye out for Haven threads myself (she's one of the best OCs Pony has spawned honestly).
Though I never quite got the connection between her and using a scythe other than Death from Darksiders 2. But if I recall right you were playing that when you drew her once or twice, so it kinda stuck.Yet there is no art of the two together

I will always join a Haven thread and contribute when i can. Her stories were my inspiration for drawing, really drawing. I could duplicate an image i saw on a tv/pc screen but I couldnt draw those characters in new poses with new expressions. Thanks to Haven i can draw almost anything i can imagine.

I think it would be good if Haven was a dream-only character. An ex-nightmare working with the Hagwarders in the physical realm feeding them information and causing general havoc for the hags in the dreamscape. Her motivation for helping them could be something like wanting to help more humans (don't worry OPHD you are still her top priority).
Perhaps through the miracle of Hagwarder technology Haven could inhabit her own Ragdoll on special occasions similar to the Gigai (temporary bodies) that Shinigami from Bleach use in the world of the living. Hovever she prefers not to use it as it severely limits her almost unmatched power in the dreamscape.

I try to follow up on you're story you have for them but missing some details. Guess to say is weather the warders fight the hags "in" another's dream or if they fight them in their physical world. If it to be the dream state, then it be nice to see Haven appear in a fight where one warder is in the mits of a heavy fight and before about to lose said fight, Haven dose her float into dreams moment like luna in S5E13 and saves the day by whatever means, but before the warder gets a chance, she then leaves as she came, leaving the warders to know more about this said specter.(giving her a backstory be all you, i'm not creative)
If it were the other way where they fight in their world, then having Haven as a Grand ArcWarder of some sorts for her school that she made to teach others to help fight off hags with having Raggie as her start student would be neat to hear. Something around there. Maybe a little story behind it where Raggie herself wonders the power of Haven and how old she is and where she came to learn to fight the hags and strive for so long, sorta secret life she has been keeping back.
This is just my random bark of thoughts i lay out before bed. I do really love the thought of one having a pone come to ones aid in a horrid night to then later make other pones from that event and grow a life with it to share with others. We've already got a lot of the Hagwarder lore and information down(We've written history up to 600 years in the past), so its all pretty much set in stone. I haven't written Safe Haven into the story yet.
