I really wanted to run today, but since the thread refuses to stay up, I'm just really not feeling it.
I know it's been a bit slow, like someone said in the last thread, but I'm not going to railroad the players to get back to the main plot. The players have to want to progress.
I'll probably make another next Friday night or so, work just really cuts into the times when I'd want to be questing.
That is of course if anyone is still interested. I kinda feel like the hiatus I had to take while things at work got busy killed the pace I had set. The quest has always been a mess of different tones and styles clashing and it might just be better to let it die now then try to drag it out. I want to finish the story, but I'm not sure anyone else cares.

Part of being a QM is knowing when to push the story along, you can't let your players do all the work when it comes to pacing, especially when you have a character say she has things to do to get ready.

Yeah. I didn't actually play it, but I found it to be a good, entertaining read. Apparently running it and playing it was not as fun, though.
But yeah, there was stuff happening, there were consequences, combat, and ways to kind of fix stuff. That was cool. I mean it still happens in nowadays quests don't get me wrong, but it's a good thing to have in a cyoa. Dealing with consequences.

Like near the end when Scootaloo and her team entered the bad guy's world, and one ponyAJ, I thinksuddenly got insta-killed by a lightning bolt just like that. Depends what you mean by remake.
If it's just a graphic overhaul, don't bother, there are better ways to spend your time.
If you're going to re-run a quest with the same premise, same plot, same puzzles, then your players can just read the old thing and they'll easily walk away from most of the stuff you'll throw their way. Not entertaining for either side.
If you're going to just make a new quest in the same universe, well, that's a new quest, not a remake.
I think I get what you're saying, and I'd find it cool too, but if you were to run something using the same premise as an old quest, you would need to change so many things to keep it interesting that you might as well just make a new quest. The difference in effort would be minor.
Then again I don't QM, maybe I'm completely wrong.

If people like it enough to vote for it next time I make one of those list polls for a new CYOA, then sure. I just want to get some backstory done first so the characters feel a bit more 3-dimensional and interconnected than I usually make them. I might also want/need to figure out a way to encourage the players to do bad things. It seems like the "You're a 'bad' pony, go do bad things." set up has worked for VampQuest and FiT, albeit kind of controversially. So, I basically need to work on the behind-the-scenes stuff some more before I feel confident enough about Buggoshock/Changelingtale/whatever you want to call it to run it.

I got an idea for a CYOA. A CYOA about an earth pony peasant taking place in that feudal society from before the founding of Equestria described in the Hearth's Warming pageant. Said peasant has to provide sufficient tribute to his unicorn lord by the time of the next harvest or else he will be gelded and is ordered to do so just as the weather is starting to get shitty due to Windigos. Not helping matters is an elusive thief who keeps stealing from his crops. Pegasi knights seems a bit off. The races seemed more separated than that and the pegasai culture felt somewhat similar to Spartans. Also with the way unicorns were more of an upper-class society, I doubt they'd easily give other races titles unless they were something truly special. Pegasai mercenaries might fit though and mercenaries tend to have weaker morals, making them even nastier. They'd also have some use for Earth ponies as guards and such.
