Well we have 24 hour cycles in which the Earth rotates around the sun. We call this period a day, and the amount of rotations these rotations that occur are 365, which is why 365 period is called a year. As days go by, they slip into others, With the closure of night rotation at Midnight of the 5th, it will be the 6th. Some people are born on or inbetween these times, and as such, are considered their days of birth, or birthdays. When a day of birth has already previously occurred in the period of a year, this is known as a "missed birthday" because the day in which it happens only happen once every 365 day/night cycles.
