After reading this I'm kind of leaning towards the Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds variant. Maybe a story about a bun singlehandedly dismantling the bun empire to get revenge on The Beloved Father. With a little bit of inspiration from kill la kill and gurren lagann, in the form of exponentially escalating power levels, a fair bit of stylish absurdity, a distant and mysterious villain who is dramatically more powerful than the protagonist is initially, and possibly an unexpected dramatic change in status quo half way through the story.

Scratch that, I'm caught up. Sorry, I was burnt out on the whole FF series after the clusterfuck of a plot that was FF8, and a more or less weirder plot that was FF9. Truth be told, I probably would enjoy the older retro games for the story alone even if the gameplay wasn't up to par with today's standards. Though 9 did have Freya and Vivi, so that's alright.
