Thanks. It's hard to explain how I planned it since it's constantly changed over 2 years.
But in the beginning it was just about finding parts in the right colors, putting them together and painting if necessary.

Being so slow it'll survive over night with maybe a bump or two depending on how many crap threads get made.
Really enjoying my camera. Three second shutter to make it nice and bright. I wish I had a nice tripod. Using a mic stand but it has a slight wobble when pushing the camera button so things could be a little bit sharper. Newest thing is the EQG minis and I finished painting the second panel on my tower finally. Also we finally upgraded out interwebz. Went from 8mbps to 180. It's fantastic..

It's there for several reasons:

Split wire loom. You can buy it in different sizes on Amazon for pretty cheap. It looks really nice when you get it all set up. You can use zip or twist ties to hold wires in place as needed. Gather all your wires and stuff them in.

I get that some people don't have the desire or ability to spend $130 on a mic, but you seriously can't tell me that a phone is an equal replacement of said mic.
I like nice sounding things. It is why I stopped using my 7.1 Razer headset and opted for decent headphones and a quality desktop mic.
Expensive? Maybe, but it was a drastic improvement and I couldn't be happier with my purchase decisions. Just like you are quite content with your 'do it all' smartphone.

I'm going to cooleg, and i do a lot of rendering. when I'm on the go, I like to play games in-between classes (i tend to play graphically intensive games at max settings). then at home, I am able to plug into the desktop card for rendering

So an update here. I decided to mess around with some overclocking and got some weird results.
I got to 4.8GHz at 1.332V and managed a 20 minute run in an extreme stress test, yet crashed at anything higher than 4.6GHz when I try to render a 30 second clip in premiere.
I'll tweak around more with it later. I need sleep.
