The other 5 have little goals or points in life (Fluttershy, applejack and Pinkie pie have zero goals and just want to sit on their asses not changing), while Twilight and Sunset are both characters that were trained by the God princess herself to take over ruling the world and helping others as well as fighting evil. Twilight and Sunset have an interesting backstory and a purpose in their universe: The entire POINT of the show is Twilight's Journey after all, and the point of Equestria girls is Sunset's journey.
