Pretty much nothing in the fallout games are bosses. Everything can be 1 or 2 shotted, and the things that can't may be bullet sponges but they're so easy to avoid getting hit by it's pathetic.

honestly, if you go against the institute, the saddest part is that the final and toughest enemies you fight in the reactor room aren't coursers.
They're legendary Gen-2 Synths with rocket launchers and flamers.
In fact, I think the BoS is the only faction where if you fight them there's a proper 'final boss', which is Maxson who starts out in a Vertibird then you fight him on the ground with his gatling laser.
I'll admit though, Maxson with Final Judgement? Eh, he might actually pose a decent threat assuming Twilight doesn't realize the danger he or his weapon poses and gets taken out early.
