It's a show that I happen to enjoy, along with art the fandom generates. That's it. I don't go out of my way to push it on anyone, I know it's quirky and unusual, but I don't care and am self-aware enough of this to keep it mostly to myself, save for occasionally watching an episode with a friend or two that also happen to like the show. Anyone who goes beyond "it's just a show I like" and treats it like a religion, going around treating it like it defines their entire existence and they must convert as many people as possible, or rages and becomes horribly offended when some people just don't think it's for them, are the type of people that are pure unadulterated cancer and the rest of us sensible fans hate.

1. The reputation we get is that we're weirdos and that's very true. Ain't nothin wrong with bein a little weird.
2. Assuming that "too far" is complete obsession of ponies, then I think those people need a wake-up call. Watching clop/fucking a plushie isn't bad unless that's all you do all day.
3. The line is very clear. If you browse /mlp/, you've crossed the line. If you don't browse /mlp/ then you haven't crossed the line.
4. Barneyfag represents a culture of unconditional hate and shaming of anything /mlp/ related. Even if you don't believe it, /mlp/ loves and tolerates everyone. If you like ponies, you're welcome here. If you're here to ridicule us, get out.

Expected. There haven't been many western forms of media that were girly and yet appealed to men. However if you look on the opposite end of the spectrum, the first star trek conventions, a series primarily aimed at males, they were all women shipping kirk x spock etc. I hope that in the future there will be more shows like MLP that have a similar appeal to men.

They probably have their own mental problems. Autism, hoarding, depression.I understand that a show like MLP would appeal to people like that and I'm happy if it's something that helps them cope with life.

Again mental problems. MLP is a very welcoming and comforting fandom. If someone becomes extreme then they're suffering from something else that makes them act that way

We share a lot in common with other fandoms. I'd say the furthest would be whatever is the most exclusive.

I've only been an open fan for about two years so everyone I know already knows about the whole brony thing. I'll talk to them about ponies and my friends will talk about Darksouls, Kingdom Hearts. I guess it helps that we're all nerds about something. Then again, we all have other things going on in our lives, these are just the things that we like.

Anyone who would enter my bedroom will find all sorts of merch and my waifu wallpapers. I'm not going to censor my living space for anyone, especially people on 4chan, and will surround myself in what brings me comfort when I'm in the safety of my own home.

I'm quite okay with the opinion on our fandom. We're labeled weirdos, pedophiles, and autists, which is expected. A general amount of media and people hate our existence, but we've gained some slack over the years (yeah years). On the flip side, we're viewed as really welcoming to everyone. A happy and cheerful bunch we are. As for /mlp/, its slumped with the same attitude most view 4chan.

Being a fanatic is extreme on itself. When you have to question your position on life, that's when being a "brony" becomes too extreme.

The reputation is never going to change, No matter how many good or terrible things the community does, it's not going to change that people hate us because we like something they don't, so the reputation is meaningless to me.
