If you have 18 ponies, then no matter how they are shipped, there will always be four ponies all of whom are shipped together or four ponies none of whom are shipped together.
It is not known how many ponies there need to be for the same to hold of five, but the number is guaranteed to exist by Ramsey's Theorem, and likewise for any generalization.
