As much as i like changelings as a beast, they are literally parasites. That'd be like wanting a leech attached to you, and in most cases a doppelganger exposing itself would definitely be a bad thing.
I don't really think it was a direct order from the queen, considering she was preoccupied with the sun princess. There's just no good reason to give such a ridiculous order to just a single changeling, or rather there's no reason to give such an order to any changeling especially if the goal is subjugation and not befriending.
Id also argue that there was no need to lower their defenses for another invasion due to rhe queen being fairly certain she had completely won.

You know, I've been realizing that I mostly play Dark Souls for the exploration, lore, weapon variety, and bosses. I get some fun out of the normal kill-what's-in-your-path combat, but not that much. Is this the usual way of seeing things, or do you anons get as much fun out of fighting through standard enemies as you do the rest of the game?
I mainly ask because I'm wondering if it's necessary for Dark Souls games to be a constant struggle in order to be fun.

I do tend to have a lot of fun going through new areas for the first time. The point at which it becomes boring is when I'm walking through eight moderately easy fights for the 20th time and trying not to lose any health because I want to save estus for the boss or ambush room I'm currently stuck on.
Been playing the luck build with using Anri's sword and cosplaying the Sunless set. So basically the "you horrible monster what have you done?!" build. Have just enough faith for bless weapon, no magic but some Dex and str for bows and the dragon and spirit shields. Just straight up sword fighting. It's a hoot cause the damage and stunlock potential is crazy. It feels like my pure magic sword girl build from Demons Souls that I loved that I couldn't quite get to work in DS1 and 2.

Yeah it's pretty weird, das3 has more options for face creation than das1, but it's very hard to make a unique face that looks good, most faces end up looking like the default. I've actually probably spent 5+ hours in the das3 character creator. It's possible to create interesting/unique/good looking faces, but it requires a lot of time. It's tedious, so many sliders don't make obvious changes, but at the same time the sliders interfere with each other constantly. You make what looks like a slight change with one slider, then when you go to use another it fucks everything up for no reason.
