I really picture Rarity being more the type to like classical music, jazz in general is associated with being "ethnic" and not particularly high class

Twilight to me seems like the kind of person who would consider music in general a waste of time, one of those rare weirdos you meet who just "isn't into music"

The rest...I don't see why not, Pinkie seems like she's like literally anything that was decent and Rainbow Dash imo I just always picture as like a Blink 182 fan but I guess anything that could possibly be perceived as "awesome" could fit her MO

>AJ
Rap and Country are literally the same fucking thing. They sing about drugs, alcohol, "feeling at home", and fucking women, all followed by either the same fucking 3 chords on an acoustic guitar or the same fucking drum and base line. I'm speaking in generalities, I know, because I think Taylor Swift and Hopsin are both very nice breaths of fresh fair for their respective genres.
>b-but Hopsin makes hip-hop!
Song structure for both genres are nearly identical. Hip-hop just puts a bit more effort into the beats.
>Fluttershy
So... Field Recordings?
>TS
Makes sense. Soothing music for someone who likes to read. Classical is really nice.

I fucking hate Rainbow Dash, and it's shitty that I have to share the greatest music ever created with this whorse.
I'm talking, of course, about Dethklok.
Praise be unto Brendon Small, for he has bestowed upon us a true masterpiece of art, a beacon of vibrant light over a void of darkness. Our creator, the father, of satire done literally perfect. Our one true God.

Actually I don't. Dethklok just happens to be my favorite thing ever.

I like a ton of video game soundtracks (Hotline Miami, Super Hexagon, Super Meat Boy, Spelunky, Runescape, and NecroDancer are among my favorites), Eurobeat, Chiptune, and even shit like Igorrr or Passenger of Shit occasionally because memes. In fact I think my tastes are predominately electronic, the more I think about it. It's just that Dethklok happens to be the highest on my list of "things I like".

Since when did Eminem do anything like ill Mind?
>>
>>27642023
You mean those social commentaries/culture criticisms? Eminem's work is either horrorcore and crazy shit for shock value or motivational, whether it's by venting anger, telling stories, commenting on what he sees around him. But at least he's skilled and not so blunt like Hopsin since his social commentary is like a teenager's angsty/edgy enlightened rant.
And if I'm not mistaken, half of Hopsin's tracks that he releases are similarly made for shock value. His formula is the same like Eminem's except inferior. Oh and also he can say nigger.
>>
>>27642082
Like I said, I know I was generalizing.
If you don't mind, link me to some of Eminem's songs you've exemplified. I'm interested in hearing some.

>his social commentary is like a teenager's angsty/edgy enlightened rant.
It honestly didn't seem like that to me. It just seemed like an unfiltered rant, with a lot of passion (Like in Ill Mind 6, when he talks about losing a friend to meth, which is my favorite one). It honestly feels a lot like KoRn's first album.

>haha you know how to spot cancer
>clearly you are the cancer mr oncologist
>>
>>27642168
Yeah it's an unfiltered, passionate rant with no real thought in it. 6 he's crying about how drugs are bad because his friend died, 5 he's crying about all the kids partying and being dumb teenagers instead of making something of themselves, 7 is a laughable religious rant most of the time and 8 is a diss track. I don't really recall the first 4 since I've never really gave him that much of a listen.

As for Eminem, for horrorcore you got shit like Kim, and there's plenty of shock value fun songs, be it Criminal, We Made You, Real Slim Shady, all the famous ones
For venting anger there's The Way I Am up to the latest album's So Much Better. For stories there's the classic of Stan, Cleaning Out My Closet, Lose Yourself. Motivational you have the biggest radio hits like Not Afraid, or Till I Collapse. Commentary on the world around him/his fans is usually across many tracks but some that come up to my mind are Sing For The Moment, White America, White Trash Party.

It's honestly better if you want to discover the music to go album by album. Start by Marshall Mathers LP, then go for Eminem Show and Slim Shady LP, with the newer ones it's up to you. Encore is meh, Relapse as well, Recovery and MMLP2 are good. But then again I'm still a casual whitey, what do I know.

Rarity would be the one to listen to classical, at least she'd pretend to enjoy it more than she does, secretly she likes divas, Whitney Houston and above.

Twilight would be bored by classical music and her taste would be very populist, though to that end she'd be pretty invested into finding the newest music. Twilight has a Soundcloud account and knows how to use it.

Fluttershy would be entirely dependent on if your headcanon for her contains weed or not. Non-stoner shy likes trance and ambient and doesn't want to you to hear what's on her headphones, stonershy likes electro, dubstep, french touch and pretty much anything with heavily remixed pop.

The rest are accurate but let it be known that AJ and Dash secretly bond over classic metal like Maiden and Slayer.

Nah, that's really how rap works. They talk about it constantly in their songs. "Haters" not only means people who dislike them for their success, it means people who find rap distasteful, often songs will just directly say "white people" or "white things".

Think back to the golden age of west coast rap, the "parental guidance" sticker became a badge of honor and it became very desirable to be viewed as violent. Before this in the 80's gangsta rap did exist but the desired symbology was primarily sexuality rather than primarily violence. The "hardest" thing you could say about yourself back then is women paid YOU for sex, not that you paid women for sex or that you pimped them out for money. Back then that whites disliked black music was less important, they had always distanced themselves from it and the two worlds were fairly separated. But in the 90's this no longer became realistically possible, especially on the highly integrated west coast where pluralism became par for the course in a polite and largely politically liberal population. Cue the "banned in Australia" effect, now that we couldn't help but hear each other's music quite a lot there was a seachange, more threatening music started coming out of the west coast and the contriversial nature of a group or single album could define it's sales. Every lil' nigga just had to have the newest, hardest, scariest rap that the white kids who he doesn't like couldn't stand and even feared. This has started to decay, rap's electronic roots are reclaiming and revolutionizing it, but it's still important for rap artists of any stripe to denounce "haters". That will always include the "rap is icky" crowd, though that crowd is largely extinct because the media-fueled controversy has been dead since the early 2000's.

Also tfw 80's rap now considered wholesome and amusing enough for Pinkie to do it.

Nah, I expect you to believe that just before the digital music age that a certain genre of west coast rap became very ironic to sell albums and that it's success has continuing effects on rap now. You have to keep in mind what I'm describing happened back when people still bought CDs and watched MTV.
