Is this the best looking episode in the entire run of the show?

Is this the best looking episode in the entire run of the show?

It's so colorful, yet less gaudy than the normal art style. The colors are darker and more muted, lending to a more moody, yet still very comfy atmosphere, fitting for a Christmas-themed episode. Despite being less gaudy than the average episode, the backgrounds still feel just as vivid, and the architecture of the town is more complicated and detailed. It all just looks so great.

I hope they do more episodes in this style.

That's the only redeeming aspect of that episode. Too bad such talent was wasted on such a cliche episode.

Well, it is a Christmas Carol episode.

To call it cliche is kinda missing the point.

I really liked 19th century Canterlot. Too bad we'll probably never see it again.

It was a good episode. Sadly it's all going downhill.

That background looks more modern than current canterlot

I really hope the show does more Victorian-style settings in the future.

One of my favourite episde to be honest, and Pinkie's Present won me over as my favourite song in the show.

actually my third favorite of the season.

I rolled my eyes when he said it, but Big Jim might have been right when he said it was the most well made episode of the show.

The art was phenomenal, the songs were great and sung to perfection, and even though the plot was basically pre-written (and still retconned a lot of hearth's warming traditions) it was still pretty good. Only episode that comes close to all three is Pinkie Pride, which was a lot more colorful than the average episode and still had great music/plot.

While this show's going downhill in a lot of ways, every season the animation looks better and better. At this point, it's almost a shame they're going with hand animation for the movie, though obviously it's wait and see until they release some promos for it.

does anyone have a gif of Pinkie's head bob at 37s in this song?

I need more animation like this in my life

Is it better than Winter Wrap Up?
I don't know if I can say so, as WWU will always be special, if only for nostalgia, and both are like cocoa for the heart and soul.

Honestly that's probably the best thing to do, my only major complaint with the episode was the whole "Christmas episode in May" thing

B-but the movie is CGI, what do you mean hand animation?

Pinkie's Present was fantastic, as were the other two spirit songs.

In terms of visuals and sound, this episode was amazing. Too bad the pacing felt a bit rushed; it could have been one of the best episodes in the entire show.

The whole thing is just absolutely mesmerizing.

That head bob you mentioned, her little jig on the stage, the pile of presents collapsing. It's all so weirdly captivating.
