I think it's stared slow (not a fan of episodes 1,2,3 - They are not bad either)
Then 04 05 were very much of my liking.
Then 06, 08 and 09 were so good it reminded me why I always loved this show so much!
07, I need to watch it again, I felt so bad for poor Rainbow Dash...
It was like old painful memories from childhood coming back full force for her, making her act like a complete jackass...
I don't think it's a bad episode, but it's definitively a feel bad episode for me... (I'm not even a dashfag and I empathized way to much with her pain...)

Sure. I didn't feel so bad about the future when watching earlier seasons. There's just something about this season and what's happening in it that's very overwhelming and uncomfortable to me. It's all so fast and big. Even thinking about the CMC episode stresses me out, and those used to be the ones I could rely on the most to relax and have a nice time.

It's been excellent so far. Easily ranking right up there as one of the top seasons of the show so far. Which is good because I was worried about how many of the more experienced show staff were leaving or diverted to other projects.

Change is awesome. Frankly I actually don't feel the show is changing enough. We need more growth and changes to drive the characters forward. Perhaps even add a bunch of new recurring characters to mix up the cast a little and switch up the locations more.

I still wish Dave Rapp would die in a horrible accident in gratuitous amounts of pain, with their guts spilled all over the place, and that someone would film it so I could fap everyday to his agony and fear while I watch his miserable life slowly fading away. If we get that later this season, that would be a 10/10 for me, for now I'm rating the season as a 8/10.

I liked most of the episodes so far.
Newbie Dash made me cringe a bit, but I think that may have been the intention. I hope it sets Dash up to stop being a massive cunt. She overtook Rara on 'Worst Pone' scale. Hell, Rara is actually likeble now, she's improved a lot the past season and this one.

For saying their episodes aren't all the same? They aren't. There's episodes like Apploosa's Most Wanted, where they're just dumb kids getting into trouble and having fun, then just a couple of episodes away, there's Bloom and Gloom, seriously expanding a character's personality by showing her insecurities and thoughts about the future. They're not remotely similar, and if they're both the same thing to you, the only explanation I can think of is that you're just not giving each individual episode a fair shot. On Your Marks was another one of the more thoughtful episodes that requires the viewer to make an effort of understanding the character's feelings to really appreciate it and not be left thinking "lol why didn't she just go make potions with Zecora if she couldn't find anything to do?". Most of their season 1 and 2 episodes fit closer to the dumb, cute fun thing, which I personally don't hate, either, but their newer ones are definitely more than that, more often than not.

Since my taste is objectively better than all of /mlp/'s, due to me being the only one here who is actually over the age of 18, I find the season to be competent but overall boring. The season premier was lackluster and felt like a filler episode from season 4 and while the following episodes have been well written they stay firmly planted in the "comfy" zone, a zone which neither inspires nor causes drama. A zone that you watch once, forget most of it, and then move onto other shows.
