Hell, I prefer it the machine way. We have two perfectly good legs and a nice buttocks to push us as long as we want to, yet we drive cars/motorcycles/whatever instead of running everywhere. If we had wings and could fly, what's to say we wouldn't treat it just like running where there's a generally preferred alternative? I'd bet that an ultralight aircraft would get you further than your own wings would anyway.
