Fluttershy has evolved to a point where her shyness remains but her assertive side has no excuses to be shown and used if necessary. The lastest episode proves this perfectly.
Marble is just how Fluttershy was portrayed in the very first episodes: just "omg i'm so shy" with lots of "umm" and head-turning.
Hell, if you had put them side by side during S1 era, they wouldn't even turn to see each other. Nowadays, Fluttershy would be the one who starts the conversation.
