The idea was there would be a lot of them, so at first it'd just seem like they were having a break/going home. The group of them wouldn't notice Vinyl kidnapping a lone one here and there. Guess they're drunk too or something.

I think love power is a good idea mechanically. It gives the player incentive not to reduce collateral damage if possible- making them weigh between fighting as efficiently as possible or try to maximum love gain for later use.

Also, slow growth is maximum unf.

So the basic storyline is that humanity is on its last legs after a violent invasion of giant, and subsequently evil, ponies.
And the role of YOU, yes YOU, Anon, is to participate in a top-secret government program and become a kaijupony tasked with guarding human settlers as they rebuild civilization.
Keep the hostile ponies from destroying humanity and help them expand and get resources.
But first we need a kaiju.

It depends on how you want to scale hostile kaijupones. If you want them to get larger or more destructive as the cyoa progresses, you need to allow the player to do the same thing.
>>
>>27472170
Maybe you can absorb powers from your defeated enemies?
>>
>>27472222
quads confirm bigpone will grow stronger as it absorbs more power
>>
>>27472222
Wouldn't the power boosts come from the admiration of people after you beat the enemy? Having both might be crazy. The power scale would grow really fast once we start taking down bigpones.
>>
>>27473368
Maybe it's mostly from admiration but a little from combat
>>
>>27473578
General growth in size and strength could come from love, while special attributes and appearance could come from the bigpones powers absorbed.

ie. Defeat fishpone kaiju and prevent it from flooding the city, earning admiration and general growth. Choosing to absorb its powers gives the protagonist a more bluish-green color scheme, gills, and the ability to breath underwater.

I don't come to this thread much, but I was just looking through some pastebins to find some classic to reread, and I checked Vell's pastebin. Was susprised to see that new Celestia story. After a year and a half Vell still has it. Just wanted to say that I'm happy he came back. Are there any other writers who left for a long time and then came back recently? I've barely been on here in the last year or two.
>>
>>27480783

>Implying I wouldn't boop them gently.

>>27480810
There are some here and there. Drawfriend briefly came back before the cyoa got thrown apart by morons, but other than that, it's mostly unnamed anon writefags. Vell coming back is good, yes, but I wonder how many others are out there lurking?
>>
>>27482123
What happened with Drawfriend's cyoa? He was the one who started it, right? Before Hexus came and did his own separate continuity or something?
>>
>>27482187
Exactly. Drawfriend started the breakfast cereal cyoa. It went on for a while though he left for a while to pursue higher learning abroad. He came back shortly though it seems like he quickly lost interest after some shitposting and probably due to how quiet the reception was, though this might've been from disbelief; I know I had to pinch myself a couple of times when I saw the posts I don't know if the new ones were ever archived. I hope they were and I hope he comes back to repost that last part so we can make a decent redo. Something that went so well does not deserve to just disappear like that if you ask me.

Hexus did his own 'second game save slot' after Drawfriend left to try and stall or at least keep the idea alive. In that continuity, the player made an enemy of Fluttershy when he tricked her into eating her own drugged cupcake and made his escape to the apple farm. It went until a little after reaching Lyra and BonBon's house and people stopped giving new commands to follow. It's been teased that it will come back if there's enough interest though if you ask me he's missed a few chances and I'm somewhat doubtful it ever will come back unless some kind of mass outcry for content happens.

As it stands, stories have popped up here (you can see some good ones recently in particular) and there though the most prevalent content are pictures from those who drop by to draw something.

>>27482123
I remember a couple threads ago someone suggested that I stopped because of the lack of responses demotivated me (or something along those lines). That's not true. What happened was a combination of exams, vidya, pure unfiltered laziness, and then an internship. I want to resume the mini quest as soon as I can, I just need to figure out when is the best time. Learning how to draw faster would also help.

That said I'll be honest, I was a bit surprised at the lack of responses, at least initially. It's funny how during little tease updates I'd get more of a response than when the quest actually resumed. In a way it was kind of neat, because it was like starting all over again all of those years ago. How many people have left? How many never saw it ;_; ?

So I was surprised, but not put off at all. That quest had been hibernating for a long ass time anyways, and I don't measure worth in replies. The most important part is that people enjoy it. Plus it seemed to be gaining momentum near the end of that thread.

>got thrown apart by morons
Really? I didn't think it was that bad. I guess sometimes people could stand to be a bit more descriptive, but they caught on when they needed to.

Anyway, I don't like posting without a bigpone picture to go along with it. And as nice real human bean Pinkie is, I figured this one should have been posted a while ago. Hilariously enough though, the size limit is too big for imgur at a whopping 1.9 mb. So I guess >>>/trash/3115872 will have to do.

Your bighorsewaif has shrunken herself down to roughly what a normal pony would be compared to you.

However, are bigpones normal in this version of Equestria so everyone and everything else is to big scale, or are there normally both big and smaller pones (the latter of which would be the size of a typical anon in equestria-style pony compared to you)?

I imagine in some emergencies, not everyone can get out in time. Or if a monster happens to just pop up in the middle of a city before it was detected. Like if it could burrow or something.

Besides, money doesn't just come from nowhere. Someone has to pay for damaged caused by the fighting.

>>27501471
Most of the time everyone's evacuated from the active zones, I think. They have D.U.N.K. forces around for that. Military police more than actual anti-kaiju force because Ultra, P.O.N.E. and Mecha-Ultra all deal with the kaiju threats. D.U.N.K. is the one evacuating people and keeping people out of the fight zone. Remember when the fans kept trying to sneak past them to get to Ultra when she was on duty?

>>27501578
>muny
The money comes from business and the populace and etc. What you forget is that there's a massive industry forming around the kaiju and the city destruction so the money flows, don't you worry about that. Where does it flow from and what else are they doing with it is probably what you should be asking instead.

Darn. How about we let drawfriend take the wheel for this while I start the words portion of it.
>>
>>27504581
We have some changeling influences so something based off of them? We might be kind of bland looking at first since we don't have any extra powers unlocked yet like sweet spines or plasma breath. What color do we glow? The last one from the cyoa was yellow, do we even have a glow?

How do we compare to other kaiju or ponies? We're probably on the smaller side at first because we have so much potential to grow, but are we as strong as others? Slightly less? Faster? Slower? Wings (or can we develop vestigial wings as we go along?). Depends on what the guy running it has in mind. Are we basically just a glowing pony until we absorb some love and gain/steal some powers?
>>
>You are Anonkaijuhorse
>And after two weeks underground, it's time to surface and retake the earth from evil ponies
>The facility at which you became a kaiju is fairly isolated and nestled in a mountain range
>You've got a generic tail and your mane is just an average mane, unkempt
>Worse off, you've yet to discover your power, or genetic predatory inclination as the scientists called it
>Like the few kaijuhorses before you, you were named after a flower
>Venus
>It's a bit difficult to get over the name change, but you're no longer Anon
>Anon was a less-than-stellar human who worked at a dead-end job
>Venus was a giant kaijuhorse standing a measley 40 feet tall
>You have 150 people in your care venturing out to set up a town
>There are no hostile ponies nearby for many miles according to satellite data told to you by a scientist before you left
>Northward lies the wreckage of the late metropolis, Moonlight City
>Southward is a fair amount of farmland turned to a wasteland by rampaging ponies
>Westward is a spanning mountain range
>Eastward is undeveloped plains that have little damage to them
>With little on their tiny backs but what the facility could supply them, your group is in need of supplies, food, and medicine
>>
>>27505373
How big is the city? It may be the only place to have any medicine stocked somewhere unless there are some old destroyed towns to pick through in the other directions.
>>
does anyone even bother with that old google doc idea list? Did anyone ever?!
>>
>>27505373
North is our best option. Our group can survive off of scavenging supplies from the city for the time being, as they are a rather small group. The city also provides cover for our humies from being seen by monsterhorses.

The mountain won't have anything useful, the farmland will take time to be productive, and the east is likely to be ransacked by giant ponies soon- as they seem to like causing damage.
>>
>>27505594

seconding north. If need be, we can find a shelter for the bigger part of the group and have a few scouts scavenge for supplies.
>>
>>27505462
Moonlight City is a fairly large city like Houston
>>27505594
>The journey is still fairly long for you, you were able to carry some of the people on your back but not all of them
>They travelled so slowly compared to you
>As you reach the precipice of the mountain range to the north, you're able to see what's left of Moonlight City
>Not too many buildings are left standing and the streets are littered with bodies and wreckage from levelled buildings
>You guessed it would be best to find low building and begin scavenging
>A subway terminal would suit your group well
>They were built to withstand collapses, were hidden, and were safe
>You also found a hospital that was still standing
>No luck finding any other human survivors
>Some medical supplies were gathered and the humans set up camp in the subway terminal
>Some vending machines were broken open, providing little food
>No sight of any ponies, as the sun sets you lie down in the collapsed rubble of what was once a completely legally distinct McDarrels

>North of Moonlight City is a smaller town that's under martial law and has yet to see a pony attack
>Eastward is more empty plains, a highway led out to unknown areas
>West was more mountains, a dangerous journey but the other side possibly had more cities
>Moonlight City still has much to offer
>>
>>27505720
Take a small group of people on our back to establish contact with the town to the north. Drop them off a decent distance away so we don't get shot at.

Let's try to find something they need and use our group to provide it via trade. Finding a niche will go a long way towards making our group secure and prosperous.

Any particular areas or places to check around Moonlight? Can we poke around for some food somewhere? Once we have some food to last us for a little bit we can start searching for a more permanent place to settle down.

>>27505793
>Town to the North
Call it paranoia, but there may be a reason it hasn't suffered the same fate as the city. Would still like to visit to see if they know about any pony activity in the area.
>>
>>27505853
You're right, better safe than sorry, but he (>>27505793) already proposed we could carry some emissaries and drop them off a safe distance.

Our people should stay hidden in the metro to minimize the possibility of detection and scavenge more when we will be back. I suggest we should look for supermarket storages, there still could be some dry food there. Second, police stations or dead bodies of soldiers/policemen for weapons. Not against the evil ponies, but against wild animals or hostile people and for hunting.

>Maybe there was weapons or even a radio system
>You were about to send in your scouts when you saw a roughly-made flag planted atop the station
>It was occupied by several not-so-friendly people
>They probably took advantage of the chaos to cause some trouble of their own
>Like all great cities, Moonlight City had a dark underbelly riddled with crime
>Off in the distance ahead, you can see a grocery store
>You can also see a storage warehouse still intact
Hostile pony will be approaching by nightfall

How do we know that? Satellites?

Anyway, I think we should split our little group: three people go to the grocery, and four to the storage. Us and three remaining guys will check the police station, but I don't know how to approach yet. Whoever's there isn't going to help us, but I'm not sure about just going there and wrecking their shit. What if they'll take everything and flee? Or what if they're confident/armed enough to fight?

>Should you just waltz up there?
>You'd probably get attacked if anything
>Maybe you could try to send in someone to bargain
>There didn't seem to be a right way to do this
>You step out into the street and begin to approach the police station from the side
>You walked with a cautious gait as you closed in on the lone watchman standing outside

Seems it's for the best to wait

Why not other types of bigpone discussion?
Would you trust your bigpone self?
>>
>>27507691
If the police station stockpiled any weapons that could hurt us, they probably would have used them up during the initial attack. Let's have a talk with the watchman. If they turn out to be hostile, we might still be able to use them to distract the hostile pone when we do battle.
>>
>>27507783
>Would you trust your bigpone self?
Surprisingly, yes I would.
>>
>>27505373
Can we get a little more description of ourselves? Approximate size relative to something/someone, physical build, age, gender, colors, distinguishing kaiju-features (monstery bits, scales, armor plating, glowy parts/eyes), that kind of thing. Do we have a cutie mark? Are we based on an earthpone, pegasus, unicorn, etc.?
And anything else one would need to know if hypothetically one wanted to draw usIf you're keeping all that stuff intentionally vague that's cool too, though I do imagine at least some of it will matter eventually

I like your story, style, and sense of pacing so far. Keep it up.

>>27507691
Oh, and if we have anyone expendable we can send to make contact with the guard while we try to chameleon ourselves against the backdrop, that might be a good way to approach this. Just make sure we plan ahead what to do should that person get attacked or (worse?) invited inside.
>>
>>27507880
At this point, we're a kaiju with no upgrades, imagine most depictions of Orchid, a little less armor plating, no luminescence until we discover our power, no bodily upgrades so Venus would just be a plain dark gray earth pony.
>>27507806
>You push one human with a hoof, urging him to greet the watchman
>He seemed unwilling but didn't want to upset you so he went
>The initial confrontation was tense, your person was unarmed and the watchman was holding a rifle of some kind
>To you it looked like a toothpick
>Your camoflage didn't work all that well as the watchman eventually noticed you standing in the background
>He stopped talking and immediately ran inside
>There was no longer a door, just an open doorframe
>You heard a bit of shouting inside as you walked closer
"Hey wait, I'm not going to hurt anyone." your voice was soft and feminine, a stark contrast to your old voice
>It almost shocked you
>Regardless, you were ignored as the occupants of the building scattered in every direction
>Not planning on taking this as a loss, you sent in your people to search the building
>A small encampment was found in the building where the people had been living, as well as a radio broadcasting system
>The weapons were mostly gone but there was an abundance of SWAT gear
>Your team at the grocery found some nonperishable foods that hadn't been ransacked during the chaos
>Your team at the warehouse found it was a storehouse for industrial chemicals
>One person on that team sustained a chemical burn and the others were a bit ill from the fumes
>Apparently there was a great deal of spills
>The afternoon sun let up, not beating down on you so hard

Patrol the nearest perimeter, trying to memorize the general area surrounding our metro hideout. This may be critical during eventual fight. Try to be a sneaky litt... big pony, just in case. The group at the police station ran away, but that doesn't mean others won't be more willing to defend their whatever. Is there a hospital around? We could use some basic medical equipment just in case, the warehouse accident is a best argument in favour of looking for them.

I feel like a survivor already. I fucking love post-apo and survival genres.
>>
>>27508199
Well we got armor that'll help against other survivors if we have to have our people fight any. Maybe we can scout around ourselves, our dark color scheme should help a lot with that. Let the people take shelter for now. Tomorrow we can go investigate the town to the North unless anyone wants to do it now because we have food and medical supplies covered for now.

>>27508251
We already searched a nearby, miraculously standing hospital and retrieved some medicine supplies. We're mostly in need of food and water, I think.
>>
>>27508315
I must've missed that. My bad.
>>
>>27508199
Are there any places around that would be safe during a kaiju fight? I'd be weary of having our people take shelter in a building, or in one place for that matter. If there's a subway entrance around, that might do it, provided we don't do (or suffer) any particularly heavy stomping or body slamming.

Though I guess we aren't technically aware of that yet.

Still, putting all our humans in one basket might not be a smart idea regardless of the type of threat. Then again, if the people that we just flushed out of the police station decide they want revenge, it would be easier for them to conquer us if we've already divided ourselves.

What if we have some of our humans camp out right next to us (preferably somewhere we aren't likely to crush them in our sleep)? It would either keep the police station humans at bay or show them we aren't a threat. It might net us some allies.

Tell the warehouse team to jump into the chemicals, it'll turn them into superheroes according to every comic ever made. We could use some superheroes.Actually no, don't tell them that.
>>
>>27508541
Our friends are already hidden in the metro I believe.
>>
>>27508251
>You take a few minutes to walk around the nearby area, exploring a few blocks and peeking into a few shops
>It was a fairly simple grid layout in the city
>The metro was next to a building with a large Twinkies billboard hanging off of the side
>You shuffled some of the wreckage onto the sidewalks to clear off the road
>You and your scouta returned to the metro with medicine, some food, and a police radio
>The radio was set up and someone began trying to contact the military facility you came from
>Others wanted to look for other survivors
>A second trip to the hospital didn't get much in the way of equipment, most things ran on electricity and you only had car batteries to power the radio
>You brought back some more food and medical supplies and helped organize stockpiles
>>27508315
>It was evening now, and you were getting tired
>You found a place to sleep near the metro, a collapsed building
>The partially standing framework of the building acted as a rough mattress under your weight
>It flattened down after a few minutes
>You were right across the street from the metro and could see it clearly and easily
>A few people stayed by you to keep an eye out while you slept, after all, you were their only line of defense
>The sun sets, casting a thick veil of darkness over the now-unlit city
>You close your eyes, ignoring the pangs of hunger beginning in your gut
>>
>>27508873
Holy shit, I forgot about food. We can help our group to find supplies for them, but what we are going to eat? Trees? Electricity? Radiation?
>>
>>27508890
Kaijus are predatory, right?
A giant predator would need giant prey
>>
>>27509104
What if our digestive system remained mostly herbivore? The evil pones just got more terrifying if not.
>>
>>27509129
Our malevolent pony friends have taken on an omnivorous diet, eating just about anything. Which is why there aren't too many people still living.
Kaijuponies have about the same diet but can be expanded based on their power. And electrical kaiju could eat electricity, nuclear kaijus could find a meal in a nuclear powerplant etc.
But all kaijus have one hunger, one thing that drives them all.
Chips
>>
>>27509445
Now I'm pretty mad. I think we should think about our diet choices when we will wake up next day. We need some rest.
>>
>>27508873
Oh shit, we've been so preoccupied with everyone else we forgot ourself. When the morning comes we will have to visit that town to the north to see if they might have something a little more suited to a kaiju. They probably have access to a lot more food and water than we do so we might be able to barter for something. I do not want us to dig into our people's stocks, they're going to need those if we head out to find a permanent place to start our town.

While we're gone we can have the people talk to the military base and give them a situation report via the radio. I doubt there are ponies who can work a radio so it's probably a pretty safe way to communicate.

Our best shot is to ambush it as it goes to the metro. Try to hit it good and hard once and let it bleed out from there.

>The pegasus dips in the air and slams into a building, your grasp slips and you regain your hold on her midsection
>You recieve a series of gut kicks from the mare as she flaps in the air, struggling to rise
>As she dips again, you use the momentum to pull yourself up enough to sink your teeth into her wing
>With only one wing available, your larger opponent plummets to the streets below with you
>You stand up after the fall
>She does not
>Exhausted, starving at this point, you are in dire need of food
>You could take some food from the humans and double down on scavenging tomorrow or...
>Your gaze shifts to your fresh kill

The humies don't have enough food for us, even under ideal circumstances. Just take the kill somewhere where they don't have to watch.
>>
>>27520067
Ask if the humans want something from the ded kaiju, or if they want to share
We re hungry but should still keep our behaviours
>>

>kaijupon eats kaijupon
Does it still count as same-size vore if you do it in bites, or is that just straight up cannibalism? Or does it really count as cannibalism if you weren't originally a pon yourself?

>humans eat kaijupon
Does this count as reverse vore?

what have you all done to me

Anyway, more on topic, it might be better to ask (if we don't already know) if there are any potential side effects to eating kaiju meat. it might be radioactive or poisonous or something. or it might mutate us somehow.
>>
>>27520494

the question i want to ask is if eating kaijupone dings our SAN and makes us more vulnerable to going berserk.
>>
>>27520593
I think it was a regular giant pony, not another kaijupony.
>>
>>27520067
To the victor go the spoils! Eat that pony, I doubt we'll be able to get any real use out of the body otherwise. Very very tempted to do a victory roar. Wrestled that horse into a building. Guess we were lucky it was a pegasus, I doubt we could have held out against an earth pony bigger than we are.

>You take a moment to breathe
>2 humans were lost in the fight
>They were scouts that were eaten before you woke up
>You look over the no longer living mare
>It was a meal well earned...
>You bite onto the neck and drag the behemoth around a corner so none of your humans had to see you eat
>The taste of fresh pegasus was a bit sickening, you usually had your meat well done and not on the animal
>Always a time for firsts, you ate what you could and came back to the metro
>With a belly full of shame and tasty slain enemy, you offered the leftovers to the group, it was most of the pony, you couldn't eat much of it by yourself
>The humans didn't seem too happy to suddenly have a hundred tons of raw meat, considering they had to treat it so it wouldn't start rotting immediately
>How much salt would that require?
>You scratched your head, a sudden pain erupting in your back made you wince
>Two tumor-like lumps began to form on your back
>Your body rumbled and your skin became tight
>You expanded up to 50 feet tall and the tumors got a little larger
>Some spindly limb was forming beneath the skin on your back
>It convulsed and stretched, pushing on your hide
>In a painful tear, two wing-like appendages burst forth from your back and outstretched themselves in the sun
>They looked like a bat's wings, but more reminiscent of a fish's fins
>You cast a large shadow in the moonlight over the metro
>The wings folded back up and you became tired again
>In the morning you'd have to deal with all of this, you were still upset you hadn't gotten your power yet, you were still a blank flank
>You went back to your heap of rubble and flopped down into it, shaking the ground around you
>The scouts kept a little close to you, one even laid across your nose
>The rest of the night was peaceful
>>
>>27522965
Flight counts as a power, I would think. In the morning we will need to start learning how to fly along with our previous errands.
>>
>>27522965
Flight means a better ability to scout for resources.
>>
>>27522965
Brütal as fuck, m8. The humans can try finding industrial salt the next day. There should be a large supply of it somewhere. We should pay respects for the dead comrades for a while, even if there's no way to bury them properly.
