No, Hasjew Marketing, I wouldn't like your shit with a fox, nor in a box with locks.
I do not like EQG.

I think that's what we are getting in the 4th film.

For everybody who wonders where this Question comes from.
>>
>>27433496
Sure that sounds like a great idea. I am sick of the portal being the cause of all the problem.
>>
>>27433597
What are you talking about?
>>
>>27433496
No, let the government be the antagonist. They capture Sunset Shimmer to experiment on her horse blood or something.
>>
>>27433642
I dunno tell me
>>
>>27433654
She is human.
>>
>>27433496
A lot of us were hoping for Sci-Twi to try and take on the Mane 6 with tech, but unfortunately they had to have a reverse sunset demon situation.
I hope that if/when we see Human Sunset, she uses tech as a weapons against magic, like an evil Iron Man or something.
>>
>>27433916
That's apparently what we are getting.

Yes. Give him/her prosthetic limbs, augmented vision, and retractable katanas in his/her wrists. Also, make this hi/her theme:

And give him/her a leather jacket and sunglasses.

I would like any kind of EQG
>>
>>27433496
Apparently it could happen
Their is talks right now to have another EQG's movie with a government guy going undercover as a student to investigate the strange things happening at equestria high and the strange anomalies the government is picking up.
The Dazzlings are the ones giving them this information and the undercover agent student will have some kind of mech suit to help him fight against whatever the girls throw at him.

Supposedly the guys name is gonna be Ace Thruster or something like that
>>
>>27437203
>Ace Thruster
that is a porn star's name
>>
>>27437230
Well most ponies have stripper names
>>
>>27433496
No, because they'd have to nerf technology so incredibly hard to make the human M6 even remotely competitive. Either that or make the villain such a raving moron as to completely waste any advantage he is given, neither of which make for good stories. The fact is, any organization or entity capable of competently using technology against the Human M6 would be at a staggering advantage the likes of which cannot be overstated.

Consider for example that the Human M6 still all use cell phones to communicate; by monitoring their communications or remotely activating microphones and cameras - all things that can be reasonably done - the antagonist could gain full awareness of everything they know and plan around them.

And that's even before we go into direct combat, because Hasbro would never allow the full extent of technology to be used against a pile of teenage girls.
>>
>>27437099
Huh?
>>
>>27437328
What if the whole movie is technology based? Like that AI story idea.
>>
>>27437349
Haven't seen that idea. I'm presuming the rough idea is that both protagonists and antagonists use technology somehow?
>>
>>27437416

CHSs standardized test scores are failing since the students seem more eager to party rather than to study. As a result Principal Celestia tries to order a special virtual game experience that will motivate the students in standardized test preparation. While the scores do improve, Rainbow Dash along with several other students in school seem to be behaving like drones focused only on studying and becoming more nerdy in demeanour, as a result a computer program has been writing itself into the students' minds forcing them to only want to study as it felt that anything else was worthless.

Our remaining cast must head into the virtual world to free their friends' minds and stop the computer program before it takes over the entire school.
>>
>>27437465
That sounds pretty awesome, I like that it totally feels like EQG despite being completely sci-fi themed.
>>
>>27437465
I really want to see this be made
>>
>>27437465
Well... it's far less cringey than the "CHS students vs government agents" idea, since it invokes things we the viewers can suspend our disbelief about (immersive virtual reality and a computer program somehow making the jump from programmed silicon to biological neurons). That's a definite point in its favor.

At the same time, I again have to comment that the AI running this thing can't be terribly smart if it doesn't know how to protect itself from hostile intrusions in an environment it itself is generating from the ground up. Why, for instance, can it not simply close the port they are connecting through after it perceives them as a threat? Why does it allow the data that represents 'itself' to be edited by an outside user (and certainly one without administrator access)?

Conversely, if it's not smart enough to do things like that, how the hell has it not been infected by all kinds of retarded malware even before it becomes a potential problem?
>>
>>27437602
>Well... it's far less cringey than the "CHS students vs government agents" idea, since it invokes things we the viewers can suspend our disbelief about

Remember we are not the target audience
Also remember that these are magical ponies that went through a portal to another world and one of them turned into a she-demon and tried to mind control the student body
>>
>>27437584
Hi, I am the one who came up with the idea.

The AI is smart, but it is still designed to do what it needs to do, help improve the students' test scores. The AI is using friendship itself to build up trust and motivation for each user to accomplish its goal. I would like you to consider their plan of going into the virtual world as a form of social engineering, the machine is meant to help students and thus the very act of teaching friendship lessons (and reforming villains) makes sense in this scenario as opposed to trying to hack it from outside.
>>
>>27437602
Also realize that in many ways this was still meant to be an innocent program for helping high school students with test scores NOT SkyNET, tight security precautions are not as much of an issue due to a lack of returns.
>>
>>27437465
Would the AI be a cute digital waifu?
>>
>>27437715
That's what I mean by having to nerf technology, though. This isn't Skynet, Department of Defense, buried-in-a-vault-under-a-mountain-and-written-by-geniuses levels of security. This is basic computer protection measures. Hell, disallowing overwriting critical files from unauthorized sources is practically needed to keep the computer from accidentallying its own important files and killing itself.

I guess that's what bugs me about a lot of "X versus technology" kind of situations: It gets set up as this serious contest... and then whoever's got the technology end of things inevitably ends up doing something like skipping baseline security measures.

So far EqG (and, hell, the show itself) has mostly avoided those kind of situations by handing both protagonists and antagonists tools we as viewers don't understand and letting us suspend disbelief. We saw a touch of problems in Friendship Games, with the pants-on-head retarded assertion that nobody would believe Cinch (what, the dozens of eyewitnesses aren't going to talk either?) but the central conflict still didn't hinge around a topic we as viewers can claim to understand the rules of.

Any core conflict involving technology, on the other hand, runs a supreme risk of doing so. I think this bugs me especially because one of the reasons I first started to enjoy FiM is that it tried to avoid such logical breaks.
>>
>>27437928
This is not some hugely secure computer program, this was meant to be an involved interactive educational gaming experience controlled by an AI. Considering glitches happen and games are easily modded, I don't consider this too crazy.

Heck, they win by convincing the AI that this isn't the best way to help improve the students' test scores. You have to remember the program is just doing what it is told and what it was programmed or generated a solution for what is best. Our heroes are not hacking and performing a glitch to save the day, so much as exploiting a flaw in the program's design.

That... actually makes much more sense, and my mind is considerably settled. Sounds like it could actually be decent now; thank you for taking the time to actually explain it out.
>>
>>27438115
I still want this to feel like the other EQG stories, but I wanted to write a story that that could work even if the portal didn't exist, but still have a thrilling conflict.
>>
twilight's pendant thingy already looked too sci fi for the time period its set in.

Since starswirl seems to have just used the human reality as a garbage dump to throw anything they couldnt deal with in, id like to see inert magical artifacts become active, or more magical creatures come out the woodwork.

sort of reveal how the pone solution was to just banish shit if they couldnt deal with it. Wizards: no sense of right or wrong.
>>
>>27438731
I really don't Iike that idea, makes Starswirl into a jerk and makes hiding the existence of magic hard to swallow.
>>
>>27438797
Id prefer to think of it making him a bit less flawless. he didnt know what he was doing 100% of the time. Maybe he knew they didnt have magic in the human world so they wouldnt be nearly as big of a threat to anyone.

And it was Twilight's crown and the parallels of the elements bearers bringing magic to the human world, wasnt it? Starswirl had nothing to do with that.
Though I guess that wouldnt explain why the necklaces of the sirens still worked. though they referred to that shit specifically as a different brand of magic than Equestrian magic. Maybe other forms of magic exist?
>>
>>27438797
Twilight, plz
>>
>>27438975
She was okay with him doing it in RR.
>>
>>27439050
once is fine and it was justified
>>
>>27439100
But doing it again and again and again seems kind of careless.
>>
>>27439123
wizards have no sense of right and wrong.
but more importantly there is no moral issue when theyre powerless, potentially even less capable than regular human, in the human world.

Now contrast that to the importance of establishing a safe and stable kingdom for pones to live in.
>>
>>27439123
>>27439155
exactly!
as far as we know, they only knew the universe they sent the monsters to has no magic, so they become "powerless" they may know nothing more than that about the EqG world, and if Starswirl HAD visited that place, it would have been over a thousand years before the events of EqG so the world would have been vastly different

I would love to know how exactly the Sirens survived for over a millennium in that world

it seems that the "magic" in that world is so minute that it was of no concern when they banished them there, so they were able to siphon off just enough to keep them young, but too weak to do any real harm
>>
>>27437328
Most modern real world villains have technology and aren't overpowered.

He pretty much exposed himself in the first 5 posts by saying Shining dies, but either way.
Summary:
>Twilight discovers a magicless world while studying Princess shit, decides to try and give non-magic to it.
>Catches the attention of an evil scientist during research, decides to use magic to become a God and rule the world.
>Is able to keep the portal open from the otherside as a result.
>This prompts the mane6 to have to enter the human world with the EOH to stop him.
>Get turned into magicless humans but still have their ordinary skills from the show, and end up on the opposite side of not-California, with the portal on the not-East coast.
>Thus have to road-trip across not-America o stop him.
>Underline themes include if Earth is really magic-less, and friendship and rivalry made progress for societies.
>Has bad guy henchmen wielding lasers n shit.
I remember hoping really badly that the real EQG would be have as good as that.

And instead we get a typical hgh school story so bad that High School Musical would cringe at it.
