I will never fully understand why the opening is so disliked. It's fine. I like g1's intro too. It's a show about little ponies, what do you expect?

I only watch the intro once at the start of every season, then I skip it
To be fair to them though... it's not to my taste but the way they sing the trademark has been there forever, it's part of the MLP brand/identity. To get rid of it would be like... I don't know.. I'm probably being a bit British here but changing the theme tune to Coronation Street.
