note the differences between Starlights home and Sunbursts
Starlight seems to be upper class and from a successful and smart family, hence the books vaulted ceiling, modern appliances and dark wood while also living in Canterlot
while Sunburst seems to be from a more traditional middle class conservative family similar to the apple clan, but has pride in their cutie marks
interesting how their personalities, intelligence, confidence an motivations developed along with social interaction with other ponies

it all makes sense now. but the interesting part is how Sunburst still helped her in all instances not expecting her to fall hoof over heals for him as time went on.
An oblivious and unrequited love just for doing the simplest things by being a good, umm, stallion
