I am not the biggest fan of the current season (yet). Let us not forget that it isn't even half way over. But even so, I've had three episodes I like a lot out of the what...8? And as for the rest I don't think any were bad, not making my list of favorite episodes but not catering to my taste specifically does not warrant calling an episode bad. There is a big difference between a bad episode and an episode that simply isn't my favorite.
That's because animation can be improved with higher budgets which Hasbro is giving the team to reward their success.
But the team fucking SUCKS so the writing has been dead in the water since Season 3.

Compare Rainbow Dash's Wonderbolts daydreams from S01 where she's is performing in front of a HUGE crowd with Newbie dash, where the Wonderbolts aerial show barely got a small group of ponies watching them.
