The songs (especially Snowfall's spell song) and visuals were interesting, and entertaining.
Although the plot lacked originality and was highly predictable.

The premise was genuinely interesting, but ultimately the episode failed awfully.
The plot was underwhelming, but what mainly bothered me was on how unfunny Discord's gags were, which is highly unlike how he typically is in past episodes, (hell he was still funny in the episode "Make New Friends But Keep Discord" when that episode intentionally had one scene have Discord make an unfunny joke.)

Every episode after I watch it the first time.
I wasn't interested or entertained by Gauntlet of Fire at all. There was no depth or conflict in anyone. It was totally shallow. Newbie Dash and On Your Marks were much more rewarding and interesting to me.
