I feel like an asshole saying this, but you'd be surprised at how much of the plot I've hinted at already. Then again, I am the creator, of course everything seems so obvious to me.Also you players have an incredible ability to avoid plot without realizing. I dont say this with spite, I am just surprised.
On the decisions thing, yeah. The small cast of characters makes it so you don't have to fear retaliation for fuck ups very often, with Dere having a grudge about the ball being the only one, which is something I should've known to predict beforehand. Then again, first time running a serious quest and all.

There's a grand scheme, actually. I had the events that led to the tower planned beforehand, which is, I believe, crucial to doing cryptic coherently-- I am not spewing random bullshit, each character is simply saying what little they know (Or believe) of the big picture.
About the wandering, yeah, should've nailed an in-world objective to AJ early on. I think I sacrificed long-term quality for the sake of short-term quality (AKA giving the players the same sense of confussion AJ has), or at least atmosphere. This thing is too atmospheric for its own good, maybe, but I feel than that's something I ought to decide when I am done, not midway through it. The prime directive is "Finish the fucking thing".

What you've done is ineffectively throw plot hints at us, hope it sticks, then opt to move on to the next. There's a lot of aimless wandering on top of that, which almost always lead to putting the contemporary mystery in focus on the backburner; because another one comes up. And it feels like we've done that to the point of losing focus altogether. Are we trying to reach the top of the tower, or solve a bigger mystery?
There's a plethora of questions, with answers to them so far in between that they're usually gone from memory come the time to connect the dots.
Like it said, it's probably just me. Others seem to be playing just fine, and I'm still interested enough to follow along. My trouble lies in doing so.
