It'll be a compilation, potentially containing everything from originals, remixes, collaborations, etc. The past efforts never came to fruition, so we're trying once again. Basically anything is acceptable. This means complete originals, remixes, collaborations, soundscapes, etc.

Please submit a mastered/unmastered WAV or AIFF. Please upload it to a site that doesn’t compress the audio file (Like Dropbox and Mediafire. NOT Vocaroo), and then share the download link. You can also upload to OneDrive (https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=C6319434888276ED%21105. To upload, post your email in the thread or email [email protected], and we'll add you). If you don’t post in the thread, please email [email protected] so we know for sure you’re submitting something.

Yes, we can always use artists. Artwork may be needed for the album cover. individual songs, and anything else we come up with. Final versions of artwork will be submitted like music (see above).

Episode days are tough.
Back from the dead.
A kind-of-update for Plays2 - basically that's the previous demo with based Engie's vocals which are now tuned properly to the mix. there's still some sibilants to be cutted out but well, that's it, mostly.
We need brass to be re-recorded. Last version i heard was pretty inconsisted in terms of right notes being hit at the start of the phrases.
As for brass solo in the end - we decided to ditch this idea. It doesn't stick, just as guitars that SG suggested to add overload the mix too much.
Basically, the main mistake with this song is that it wasn't thought out properly in terms of musical form. We have completely instrumental "verses" with vocal choruses and no place for proper sax or trombone solo. The right (and impossible now) course of action would be turn these verses into another repeated part, like, pre-verse part, cut them in half, and then add proper verse with vox and whatnot between them and choruses. Sadly, i don't have time and motivation for such an action. Should've done this from the start. Well, bad expirience is still expirience.
Anyway. There maybe some tweaks about this thing, but i'm gonna mix it in the early June. I don't have much time before that - finals will kick my ass soon, work needs to be done, other irl shit yadda yadda.

the audio recording program i used was uninstalled after i did a System Restore, and when i attempted to reinstall it, the company refused to revalidate the one-time purchase. it was one of those little terms and condidtions things. another issue is that i was moving my computer set up to another location after th system restore, and my MIDI cord got lost somewhere along the way. So i can't connect my keyboard to my computer either until i find that cord
reposting from last thread, there was a wubby dubby solo acoustic concept from last thread, and i re-wrote the song to more suit it's concept.
need some help with some acoustic backing, maybe some strings like violin or cello, maybe a soft drum beat. the one complaint with this is the chorus is repeated too much, that was intended, going off of bo burnham's "repeat stuff" logic, but another verse would help.

I was looking at Seq24 before but I've never used it so don't know how competent it is. I've got LMMS on my computer which may or may not be useful to you but it records MIDI so...

Things I noticed:
-Terrible and awkward camera angles right off the bat. Will fix.
-Poor Pacing of Camera angles. Some are too slow and some are too fast.
-Flying glass of whiskey is unrealistic and needs to be sped up
-Atrocious lighting (even though I knew it was going to be bad since after seeing all these mistakes I didn't bother sending it to my lighting guy)
-Lack of realism in some departments
What I still have yet to do:
-Fix all these issues
-Send in final comp to lighting specialist on my team
-Complete part 1 (the part with the ponies in the theater)
-Add credits
-Do a second draft of video
-Do a final draft of the video
-Make thumbnail
So yea I still have "lots" of things to fix and do, but no worries, as soon as I finish this last school project I will have tons more time. Also After Effects CC 2014 sucks ass. Never go beyond CS6. I am learning that the hard way. It is terribly optimized and incredibly hard to review your work unless you have some super high end rendering and video editing computer. But this is only the first draft so we are still fine. If you guys see anything I did not mention or have any additional concerns let me know. It is too late to redo any of the voices, but we can change effects if needed.

That's actually a good question. I was wondering the same. I mean judging by the number of songs currently in the doc, I would assume there has to be some weeding out for the sake of quality control.
On the other hand we can use Balloon Party's album as reference. I think they had like 20 songs on their album.
We also need to keep in mind that we do not want a long ass trailer video. If each song gets 20-30 seconds of preview and we are putting (just as an example) 20 songs on the album, that is nearly a 10 minute video. We also don't want to give my video guy too much work.
Speaking of which he said he is nearly done with the preview video to demonstrate some of the enhanced mechanics of the previous preview video he made a couple months back. But yea we still need to come up with a definitive list of songs in the video by the end of next week.

There is no judging per se, but we do have some bar of quality. As long as it's not a clusterfuck of noise, it should be fine. The tracklist on the doc is usually added by whoever wants their track to be on the album. Since there aren't many musicians on /mlp/ we probably won't turn away any tracks. The July 11 release date is set in stone, so any tracks not complete before then, or rather a week before, will be placed on the next album since that was a concern brought up recently.
